Reid - 2/1/2017

Reid ate two servings of toast and ate blueberries for breakfast.  I just HAVE to mention this: Momma Lesley told me Reid ate eggs and toast at home and here's what Reid said during breakfast: "I just had some toast...this is better toast than what I just had!"  LOL!!  Sorry, I'm just the reporter!! I'm getting very prideful of my toast.  :)  For lunch he ate chicken, lots of elbow noodles, two servings of applesauce, and ate half of his strawberries.

I'd apparently dropped my hearing aids on the floor by the dining table- I didn't realize that and then I couldn't find them.  Reid spotted them - thank you Reid - and I was grateful I'd not stepped on them.  I told Reid they were expensive and cost a lot of money.  I guess he felt the need to encourage me not to waste my money on such things!! "Never ever ever waste your money on two hearing aids!"  LOL!  I roared!  Well thank you Reid, but I love my hearing aids and they are worth every penny!

He hauled out the big bears again.  His primary reason for bringing them out is for me to throw them at him.  Ha!  He did jump on them and over them for awhile though.  He jumped over them and said, "It Wall of China."  Isn't that funny?

Here is a picture of Reid playing with that Tablet again.  He asked if he could play and I'm limiting him on how much he can play it.  He did lots of counting games this morning and was showing me the watermelons; "Hey Gary!  These watermelons are Massive!!  Huge!!"  Ha!!  He worked hard at the counting and brought it to me when he was done; "That was hard work!"  Good!  We did some Dot Painting and he enjoyed Story Time as well.

Reid - 1/27/2017

Reid ate bites of breakfast: kix cereal and raisins.  For lunch he ate ground beef, LOTS of whole wheat elbow noodles, half of mixed fruit, and ate a large serving of applesauce.

Frequently, including this morning, Jamie will swing by the window so Cooper can wave at Reid after she drops the girls off at school.  She always calls on the phone to let us know they're coming and then Reid and Cooper can also say "hi" to each other.

This is a bit crude, but I'll post it anyhow!!  Ha!  Reid was in the bathroom and I heard him flush the toilet so I went to wipe him.  I asked, "Did you get some poop out?"  He said, "Actually a whole load!"  (Actually I was in agreement!)  Hahaha!!  That boy makes me laugh!

On of Reid's favorite activities is bringing out the Big Bears and having me "throw" them at him!  It's the same routine every time; "Gary, can I get big bears out?"  Yes.  .....  "Ok, I got them; will you throw them at me?"  Ha!  He stands on the blue balance beam and I toss them from the dining room gate and he falls backward onto the mattress.  Shortly after that he said, "Hey Gary, come and find me?"  So I took the camera and got a picture where he was hiding.  He's behind the Panda Bear in the toy shelf and you can see his feet sticking out on the left side of the picture.

It was just Reid, Avi, and Nora again so we did some play dough this morning to keep Reid busy.  I put Avilene in her highchair so she could watch what Reid was doing.  And she really watched for several minutes and then I put her at the table.  She played with it for over 5 minutes, which I thought was great for how young and busy she is!  Reid put a couple of "accessories" (cookie cutters, pizza cutters, rollers, plastic spoon, knife, and fork, etc..) at her spot for her.  He said, "I'm teaching her how to do play dough!"  Then he cut through the dough with his plastic knife.  He said, "Don't ever do it like me!"  Hahaha!!  After a few minutes I said, "You're doing good Reid."  He answered, "Gooder than her!!"  LOL ! Yes Reid, let's compare your work to a Baby 14 plus months old!!

Reid - 1/26/2017

Reid ate raisin english muffin and LOTS of blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate some chicken, ate crackers, bite of sweet potatoes, and ate LOTS of canned cherries.

Reid and I were looking at some animals pictures and he said, "I thought that hunk (skunk) holding an acorn was a mouse."  LOL!  Well actually that's a chipmunk!  But it also has a stripe down it's back so I guess you could confuse it with a skunk.  Then he asked about a bird.  I told him that's a grouse and they are kind of yummy to eat.  "How'd you get one?"  Well I shot one.  He asked, "Can you shoot one for us!?"  Ha!!

He was sitting in the chair and being a couch potato.  He said, "I'm gonna sit here all day!"  Ha!  Actually he kind of tried to, but I kept prodding him to do things, although he wasn't interested in doing some art work.  (I have a different plan for that!)  The only other kids here today are the two babies; Avilene and Nora.  So I got out a little tablet that Lauralea got me for Christmas just for times like this!!  :)  She loaded some toddler and preschool games on it.  One of them is a puzzle game and he said, "This one is on Mom's tablet."  And it was quickly obvious that he knew how that game worked!!  He was zooming those puzzles pieces into position!

There are some good learning opportunities on these games.  He was doing a word and alphabet game and said, "Hey Gary!  G is for giraffes too!"  He knows "G" is for Gary and that was a nice association he made.  Good thinking Reid!!

Reid - 1/20/2017

Reid ate oatmeal and three servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, lots of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and lots of applesauce.  Sophie was trying to tell me something at Lunch and it sounded foreign.  Ha!  Is that a movie Sophie?  "Yes."  Sorry, I know nothing about your movies.  Reid came to her rescue;  "Well you should know something about our movies!!"  Why?  "Come to our house and you'll see!!"  Ha!!

Right after Lunch today Reid spotted a little spider on the ceiling and pointed it out to Sophie and she showed it to Hudson.  Oh man, they were wanting to "get" it!  Sophie said, "Bubba, Look at that stinking spider!"  (You're welcome.  Ha!)  Then they had the little drills and were pointing them at the ceiling and Hudson was saying, "Shoot shoot, shoot shoot."  :)  So after I finished feeding Baby Nora I got the ladder and got the stinking spider!  Ok everyone, you can all relax!!  :)  Reid kept telling me all he needed was some kind of a gun!  Ha!

These first two pictures are just kind of silly, but hey, that's our specialty!!  Just wanted to show you some more various places where Reid chooses to lounge and a couple of variations on his lounging accessories!!  Notice he is waving his hand in the 2nd picture!

There is a cute story behind the last picture!  Sophie was wanting Hudson to help her get the Big Bear back over the balance beam and onto the mattress!  She was saying, "1 2 3 4 5 6...help me Bubba!" and they were supposed to throw it onto the mattress!  Ha!  Reid was observing all of this and said, "You need me to help you!"  (love that!)  So he did.  Sophie asked Reid, "Can you help us make a bunkbed Reido?"  Ha!  He went right over and stacked the 2 bears on top of each other.  And apparently that was exactly what she wanted!!  Sophie said, "Ok Bubba, I sleep on top, you sleep on bottom."  Hudson didn't really want any part of this activity and took off running!  Ha!  Sophie yells, "Get back here Bubba; it your nap time!!"  Haha!

Reid - 1/19/2017

Reid ate raisin english muffin and a couple pounds of blueberries for breakfast.  Haha!!  No, it really was probably close to that! For lunch he ate turkey and ham, bite of flat bread, 10 green beans (yes I counted), and ate his strawberries.  I told Reid; "There is something about you that makes me laugh!"  And he finished it with this; "Like a wild hyeenee!"  He's heard me say that a zillion times; "Laughing like a wild hyena!!"  Ha!  See what I mean; you make me laugh Reid!

He did some drawing/coloring with markers at Art Time.  He said he was making a treasure map and it was a "hard one."  What makes it a hard one?  "It in a volcano!"  Ok, I agree, that will be a hard treasure to find.  I told him I was an expert in Treasures and that's why I named my Daycare; "Little Treasures!"  He looked at me like; "Whatever."  :)  Then he was watching me open an envelope with my letter opener and he asked, "What kind of hord (sword) is that!?!"  Haha!!  A small one.  :)

I told Reid that Sophie went to "music class" today and would not be coming to Daycare.  He said, "Yeah!!"  Haha!  Why do you say, "Yeah!?"  "Because she not going to boss me around anymore!"  Haha!  Then he went on to say, "I gonna tell her - when you come - if you in charge, you have to change diapers!"  (That's what I told Reid earlier and he passed it along.)  Ha!

Here are a couple pictures from this morning:  Reid let me know this "Air Ship" is NOT an airplane! Well thank you Reid for letting Avi try to turn the propellors on the Air Ship!  With Hudson looking on and learning about the Air Ship.  And in the last picture Reid has a rough life - laying back keeping an eye on the Air Ship!  There I managed to say Air Ship 5 times in one paragraph!!  :)  Thought I'd include a picture of Reid lounging somewhere besides the chair!  See....he doesn't spend all day in the chair!!

Reid - 1/18/2017

Reid ate jelly toast and a can of mangoes for breakfast.  It was a good thing he ate lots at breakfast because the Lunch is not his favorite!  Bean, rice, and chicken burrito, sweet potatoes, tropical fruit. He did have a bite of burrito and didn't moan too loudly!!  Ha!  He wrapped his arm around his face in a silly fashion and I asked him where he learned that.  Who does that?  He said, "Most all of our family."  Ha!!

Sophie was singing/saying, "Humpty Dumpty fell ON the wall."  Reid said, "ON the wall!!??!!"  Sophie said, "Fell ON the wall and broke his arm."  Reid said, "Broke his skull!"  ("gull"  Later, Reid said, "Your gull is empty!"  What!?!.....ohhhh....skull!!  Ha!)  Sophie said, "I broke my arm last night!"  Reid, "Nooooo!"  Ha!  Silly kids!  Later Reid was trying to get away from Sophie and was perched on top of the igloo.  He said, "She afraid of heights!"  Ha!

Reid had fun doing some stickers at Art Time and then wanted to draw on his paper as well.  He made some "roads" all around the stickers.  It was actually pretty cool and he said, "It kind of like a race car road!"  Yup it is!

The story behind this picture cracks me up!!  Sophie was talking on the old flip phone and Reid was trying to tell her it wasn't a "real" phone!!  ("Not a leal phone!!  That a play phone!")  So he asked me if he could use my "leal phone" to illustrate the difference!  hahahaha!!  He primarily was focused on the size; "This what a leal phone look like!!  Now you know what a leal phone is!!"  Now it was Sophie's turn to dutifully sit and listen!  She was very attentive and said, "oh."  Ha!

Reid - 1/17/2017

Reid ate LOTS of cinnamon roll for breakfast and a bite of canned prunes.  He looked at the cinnamon rolls and said, "I can eat all of those in 30 days!"  Well I have news for you Reid; You just ate all of them so I think you might be hungry for the next 29 days!!  I told him before Lunch:  "Reid you need to wash your hands."  He responded with, "Are you kidding me!!??!!"  Ha!  No.  :)  Also at the meal table Reid just randomly said, "Knock knock on the door."  Who's door?  "Your door....5, 6 pick up sticks."  Ha!  Good job Reid!

This isn't about Reid, but I thought you might like it anyhow:  I frequently move the Baby Saucer into the lunch room if a Baby is awake so they can hang out with us at meal time.  (Nora still uses it occasionally, but she has just about grown out of it too.)  So at breakfast the saucer was sitting there, Sophie looked at it and said, "Avi live in here."  Yes, Avi spent some time in there, but I think it's a stretch to say she lived in there!!!  Haha!!

Reid was bouncing on Lauralea's knees again and he wanted her to sing; "Boston."  So she sang, "Oh here we go to Boston, to Boston....."  After Lauralea left I asked, "Reid, have you ever been to Boston?"  He said, "No, but I could throw you to Boston!"  Haha!  Ok.  Then he added, "But not Lauralea."  Why not Lauralea?  "She too heavy!"  Haha!!  Hmmm.....You might not live long enough to ever make it to Boston with those wisecracks!!  :)

I asked Sophie; "Can Hudson have lunch with you?"  She said, "No."  Why not?  "Because it dinner."  Of course.  What was I thinking?  "Ok, can Hudson have dinner with you?"  She said, "No."  Hmmm...Right then Reid asked Sophie, "Can I have some?"  She said, "Yes."  Ok, now I see.  She then scooted over closer to Reid.  It was so cute.  :)  She loves her Reid!  I took this picture when Reid was telling her she needed to eat too.
