Reid - 2/28/2017

Well Reid slept from 8:45 - 10:45!  That was a pretty good extension on the night's sleep!!  For lunch he ate some pizza crust with tomato sauce.  He wasn't too enthused about the hamburger meat pizza with olives, pineapple, mushrooms, peppers, and whatever else Lauralea had on there.  He also wasn't interested in eating some pineapple separately.

I thought this first picture was pretty cute.  Sophie is doing the "Shhhh" sign with her finger and letting Hudson know Reid is sleeping.  And Hudson was really listening to her as well!  We really didn't tone it down much, but I did have some music going all morning to have a constant noise for Reid.  Believe me, there were some LOUD moments, but Reid never stirred during that 2 hour nap.

Reid awoke at 10:45 like I said, but I didn't realize he was awake.  We were in the middle of Story Time and reading one of our Alphabet books.  We were on "B" and Sophie asked, "Whose letter is B?"  Reid answered from the chair, "Bode."  Haha!  Thank you Reid and welcome!!  That made me laugh because, like I said, I didn't even know he was awake!

Avi came from swim lesson at 10:00 and she was hungry.  So I moved the highchair into the Daycare Room.  See Reid still sleeping!?!  Ha!

Reid - 2/24/2017

Reid ate bites of malt-o-meal cereal and ate raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, lots of whole wheat elbow noodles, lots of applesauce, and ate mixed fruit.  During breakfast time I asked him if he'd went to Church last night.  Well, yes, sort of, kind of, not really, maybe like Church, not really Church.  And the explanation was not easy to follow!  Ha!!  Here's what I did get: "It was at Cross Point, but it was different."  (By the way, I knew the answer, but it's too much fun asking the question anyhow!  Ha!) The primary difference that I heard: "There wasn't any doughnuts!!"  :)

Then after lunch he went back to the table to have another drink of his almond milk and made an announcement!  "Gary!  Do you not know I can drink it when I got the cup in my mouth!?!"  Satisfied with himself he made an additional comment as he walked out; "Yup, that's pretty much magic."  Haha!  No idea what he meant!  I'm just the reporter; you all can determine the meaning on your own!!

Hmm...have you seen a few pictures with Reid lounging in a chair at Little Treasures!?!  Ha!  This time it's in Gary's chair!  He was pretty proud of himself!

Reid was jumping on the mattress and Avi was wanting to be right there of course.  He started pulling her away from the mattress, but she didn't care one bit!  Just as soon as he let her go she'd race right back to the mattress where he was playing!!  (See 3rd picture!!)  Reid was pretty amused by the whole thing.

Kenzie and Riley built a block structure yesterday that everyone was playing with this morning.  Reid decided to create mayhem and chaos by destroying it all (Hudson and Avi had been itching to do it earlier!) and make a big mess.  (Avilene was SO thrilled by the craziness!  She was grinning and laughing!  She kept looking at me to see if this was really legal!!  Ha!)  When the destruction was complete they all packed blocks over to the block shelf while I put them away.  They were listening to my instructions and being good helpers.  Reid left the project with only 5 or 6 blocks to go and said, "I think you guys can handle this."  Ha!

Reid - 2/23/2017

Reid ate whole wheat english muffin and three servings of blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate bites of chicken, crackers, bite of sweet potatoes, and two servings of canned cherries.  Reid and Sophie were talking about their dogs at the table.  I asked Sophie if she remembered the name of Reid's dog.  She said, "Chief.  He's a big big dog."  Reid said, "Him 3 year old to get that big."  Then they were quizzing Hudson:  "What your Dad's name?"  "Dad."  What's your Mom's name?"  "Mom." "What's your Dog's name?"  "Dog."  :)

Reid was watching Baby Nora play with a book and he said, "Her touching it, opening it.  I don't think she know how to read it.  I think she want you to read that book."  :)  That was very cute and sweet!  He was later trying to help Avilene and explaining how the toy she was packing needed to stay on the other side of the room.  Thanks for helping Reid.

Reid was hanging out in his favorite chair as you can see in the picture.  I took this picture because his left ear was folded forward, but it's hard to see in the picture.  Haha!  What a handsome boy!!

Reid was playing in the living room - I let him go out there to play when he gets bored in the play room - and he had the stool in front of the gate performing for the kids.  (We'll call this; the early years of Reid the Comedian!)  He was saying, "I keep falling on my butt!" and he'd fall backward off the stool.  And Sophie, Hudson, and Avilene were laughing!  :)

Reid - 2/22/2017

Reid looked at the biscuit and peaches for breakfast and said, "I'm gonna skip this one."  Ha!  For lunch he ate baked beans, bites of dinner roll, bite of peas, and ate a large serving of crushed pineapple.  At the Lunch table Sophie asked Reid if he'd seen the movie "Mo-wanna."  LOL!  (That's what I heard!!)  He said, "I never heard of it since I was born!"  Ha!  She wanted to talk about different Disney movies and Reid talked about Star Wars movies and playing X-Box. It all sounded like a foreign language to me!!  Ha!  Also at lunch time Reid pulled up his pant leg and showed me a scar and said, "This from camping 32 days ago.  I tried to step over tree and that didn't work!"  Ha!

Reid talked at length about "play on X-Box"  and particularly about one game!  "So fun on this one game!"  So many details were lost in translation!!  I did hear; "Pretty awesome!!"  Ha!  He finally said, "You might need to come to our house to see what it is!"  :)  I've heard that before!!

Sophie and Reid had fun with some play dough this morning.  Reid asked, "Did you just buy this?"  I told him no and that it actually came from the Cline Family a long time ago and he finished by saying, "In a land far far away!"  Ha!  After art time I said it smelled like someone was poopy.  Reid pointed at Sophie and said, "I sniffed her butt and her definitely poopy!!"  Thank you Reid.   :)

We (Tate ) did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this past weekend and I showed Reid the tractors that came from his house.  He kind of showed some recognition, but not much.  I put new batteries in one of them and that made it more attractive!!

Reid - 2/17/2017

Reid went to sleep after you left - about 8:30 - and slept for 3 hours!!  Woke up for lunch at 11:30.  He ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.  So there is nothing to Blog from this morning, except post these 2 pictures.  He went and got the other blanket (you see in the picture) shortly after you left to cover his head and he was asleep by the time Avi got here.  In the 2nd picture Avi was rocking his chair and looking at him, but nothing fazed him!  :)

Reid - 2/16/2017

Reid ate LOTS of breakfast:  raisin english muffin and blueberries.  For lunch he ate turkey, no flat bread, a few green beans, and ate strawberries.  Reid's latest routine is to take a stroll through the kitchen first thing in the morning to determine what's on the menu for breakfast, lunch, and snack!

As usual he had some pretty funny quips today!!  He was scattering the blocks around - not building anything - just making a mess!  He said, "I'm making a bigger mess for Tate to pick up!"  Haha!  I've never said anything about that, so either Tate told him that or he determined it on his own.  The problem with doing it today Reid; Tate does not work until tomorrow!!  :)

Then I was offering him every kind of art that we do, but he wasn't interested today.  He said, "You'll just have to paint yourself!"  So I asked; "What would you like to do?"  He said, "You go outside and we'll keep all the doors locked!"  LOL!  He always has an answer!  He also mentioned Elliott today, except he couldn't remember his name.  He said, "Remember that guy that flop on mattress?"  Big Flop?  He said, "No, little flop."  He totally recognized Elliott's name when I said it.  The Cline kids and Reid thought it was so funny when he'd do his "face-plants!"  That was a long time ago.

Here are some pictures from this morning.  This is where we found Avilene after breakfast.  She was done eating and Reid finished up later and then he sat down to watch her.  Here's Reid's observation: "Look what Avilene's doing!.....booorrrriiiinnnggggg!" Why is it boring?  "Tiny book!"  That's his latest observation - if the book is short or small that makes it "boring!"  Haha!  In the 2nd picture Reid said, "I'm in your wife's chair!"  LOL  In the 3rd picture Reid was just pestering Avi and trying to balance one of the little cups on her head.  And in the last picture he said, "If I move this ("his" chair) close enough (to the couch) I could sleep here."  :)

Reid - 2/14/2017

Reid ate several cinnamon rolls and a bite of canned plums for breakfast.  For lunch he ate most of hash browns and scrambled eggs, ate lots of waffles, and ate cantaloupe.  Several days ago Reid was messing around at the lunch table - slowly rotating his head around and around with his eyes closed. Occasionally he had his eyes opened, but then he'd look cross-eyed!  He ended up falling off the table bench onto the floor and I just roared.  It kind of embarrassed him, but not too bad.  So today I was telling Lauralea about it and Reid said, "Why are we talking about that NOW!"  :)  He did add this one note of clarification for Lauralea; "It didn't hurt one little bit!"  Haha!!

Lauralea was singing for the kids this morning and bouncing them on her knee!  Reid said, "I wanna do it!  Can we do Trot Trot?"  :)

When I took this picture Reid was rubbing the bottom of his bare feet on the carpet.  He said, "Gary, this a ma-hage for my feet!"  (massage)  Ha!  "It feel so good!"

Reid was sticking the shorts on his head and said, "I used to do this all the time!"  Yup!  You sure did! Back in the early years!  :)

Last Friday Reid was telling me a "long-winded story" and I jokingly asked him; "What is the point of your story?"  He said, "I don't know that part."  Haha!  Well today, Sophie was telling a story and then Reid interrupted her.  She said, "Reido!  Let me finish my story!"  He looked at her and said, "But what is the point?"  LOL!!

Reid - 2/13/2017

Reid ate bites of kix cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch he ate lots of ham sandwich, ate his peas, and mandarin oranges.  He asked for more ham sandwich at lunch and I said, "Ok, and you can eat some more peas while I fix it."  Reid said, "I knew that was coming out of your mouth!!"  Haha!  Well I'm glad to be consistent and predictable for you!!  :)

When I fix Sophie's hair I always sit her on the changing table and it's just the right height to work on her hair.  Sometimes (usually) she's swiveling her head around like an owl so I'll ask her to look at whatever picture is on the calendar.  This month it's an elephant with her two babies.  I asked her what the elephant babies are called.  Not sure.  So I asked her if they were called a "joey."  Reid said, "No, that kangaroo."  I'll put that in your Blog Reid!  (Facts about animals aren't something Reid usually cares much about, so I was proud of him!)  Then Sophie said, "Calves!!"  Good job Sophie! Yes, they are called calves.  She said, "Put flamingo on my Blog!!"  Haha!  Ok, here it is!!  Flamingo!

Avi and Hudson were squabbling over one of the smallest books.  (And I have LOTS of them!!)  Reid said, "They're fighting over a very short book!"  Haha!  Small books = boring books in Reid's world.  After reading a book at Story Time Reid will sometimes say, "That book boring!"  Why?  "Too short!!" Sophie was trying to be the peacemaker during this conflict.  She was primarily yelling at Bubba; "Buuuubbbbbaaaaaa!!!!"  Ha!

Reid easily shared his little Star Wars stuffed  toys this morning and in this first picture Hudson was playing with one of them; putting it in one of the stacking cups.  Reid brought over one of the Stuffed toys and showed me the recycle symbol on the tag of the toy.  He knows what that means.  He said, "You can re-hykle it!"  So I asked him what does it mean to recycle!  He thought for a moment and said, "To get it again!"  Wow, good job buddy.  I'm impressed!!  Reid was also laughing at Hudson when the static electricity from the couch was once again making Bubba's hair fly!  He said, "Look at Bubba's hair!"  Hudson immediately started looking up, but quickly realized that just wasn't going to work.  (By the time I get him to a mirror his hair is settled back down!)

I asked Reid how his Dad was feeling after falling off the roof.  He said, "why was he up there again!?"  To shovel off the snow.  He said, "That make a lot of sense!"  Haha!  Then he added, "His watch fall off and his head bumped into his watch."  The details continue to come forth!!  :)

Reid - 2/10/2017

Reid said, "I'm gonna skip breakfast!"  Brown rice and raisins.  He did eat some raisins.  For the most part I was ok with him "skipping breakfast" because I know he usually has something to eat before he comes to Little Treasures.  I didn't want to make a battle out of it.  Are you ok with that if it happens again?  For lunch he ate meat balls, some flat bread, bite of carrots, and bite of apricots.  After Lunch Bubba was still in his highchair and I'd went back into the Play Room.  I heard Bubba start talking (Hey! You left me out here!!  Actually I don't know what he said!!  But he wasn't distressed so that was good!)  It hit my funny bone and I was bent over laughing.  Reid said, "Stop laughing and get Bubba!"  Haha!  That just made me laugh harder!

You said Reid didn't sleep real well last night Lesley so I had to take a couple pictures of his lounging this morning!!  Ha!  However, he wasn't grumpy at all so that was awesome.  He actually was in a great mood and was quite playful.  He tried to cover his face for both pictures and I was trying to trick him to look at me!!  :)

I thought this next picture was cute because Reid was keeping a close eye on Sophie's progress and he did help her a little because this particular puzzle is a bit difficult.  (He has a stool upside-down that he's sitting in.)  Reid came back out to the Play Room and was telling me a long convoluted story that had something to do with helping Sophie do puzzles.  In silliness, I asked him, "What's the primary point of this story?"  He replied, "I don't know that part."  LOL!

The kids had fun playing with the play dough this morning.  If you look close you can see that Reid's play dough is a different color.  He said, "Mine is purple with a little bit of park."  (It has sparkle or glitter in it.)  Hudson had lots of fun with the play dough this morning and also played with it very appropriately! And by that I primarily mean he did NOT try to put it in his mouth!!  Ha!  I told him he was doing a good job and Reid said, "Bubba getting good cause he's watching me!!"  :)  There certainly is a LOT of truth in that Reid!  You are a good example to the little ones!!

Reid - 2/9/2017

Reid ate two servings of cinnamon toast and didn't want any pineapple for breakfast.  For lunch he ate baked chicken, dinner roll, bite of hash browns, and two servings of canned cherries.  At the lunch table Reid said, "Two people in Bode's class have anger issues."  Oh that's too bad.  Do you have anger issues?  :)  He told me a long story, but the main points were this: "Tate attacking Bode, Me attacking Tate, and I get really mad."  Thank you for that honest disclosure Reid.  :)

When Lauralea came upstairs she saw Reid and said, "I didn't know you were here."  Reid said, "Just in MY chair."  Ha!  Then he was wandering through the kitchen and Lauralea asked, "What are you doing?"  Reid said, "Just looking."  Ha!

Lauralea was reading a few books to Reid, Hudson, and Avilene; although Avi had gotten down by the time I took this picture.  This book Lauralea is reading to them (in the picture) is a counting book.  When they got to "six" in the book Reid said, "Hix."  And of course Hudson mimicked him perfectly; "Hix!!"  Lauralea and I laughed about that one!  When they were done reading Lauralea said, "Thanks for reading with me."  Reid said, "Anytime."  LOL!!

I told you previously about this tablet that I occasionally let Reid play.  I took this picture when he was playing today and the tablet was charging.  This is a drawing game and Reid said, "It a magical pencil!"  A few minutes later he said, "Look at game I downloaded!"  WHAT!!  These kids are too stinking smart with technology!!  And he had!  It was an appropriate game - a sorting game.  Then he said, "Look at update we got!"  No more downloads Reid!  "Ok."  (I hope it didn't cost something! Haha!!  At least they have Lauralea's Credit Card and not mine!  Haha!)  I was so positive he didn't know what he was talking about when he said he'd downloaded a game!!  Geez!!

Reid - 2/8/2017

Reid went out to the lunch room, looked at the bagel and peaches for breakfast, went back into the Play Room and said, "I'm waiting for Lunch!"  Ha!  I wasn't too concerned because Momma Lesley said he'd eaten some waffles for breakfast at home.  However, he started pestering me before 10:00 to serve Lunch.  He knew the whole wheat elbow noodles were just waiting for him!!  "Can we just have some lunch!?!"  But he made it until after 11:00!!  For lunch he ate ham, lots of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate corn, and lots of applesauce.

I actually took this picture yesterday when Reid was playing with this "pop-up" toy.  And he was playing with it again this morning.  I'll try to describe what it does!  There are 4 different characters on it and when they pop up there is a song associated with each one.  For example when you push the Elmo button, Elmo pops up and sings, "Rubber Ducky you're the one who makes bath time so much fun......"  Well Reid was poking the button as fast as he could and it was repeating the first word over and over!  "Rubber rubber rubber rubber.." (It was actually quite loud and annoying!  Ha!)  Reid came over to me and said, "It sound like Robert Robert Robert Robert..."  It took a long time for me to figure out what he was saying and then what he meant!!  I was pretty proud of myself!  Ha!!

This picture portrays a sizable percentage of Reid's morning!!  Ha!  He did manage to escape the swivel/ rocker chair to move to the couch!  He was watching Sophie, Hudson, and Avilene play on the mattress.  I guess Daycare is a spectator sport!  :)  We read some books and now it's tradition for Reid to comment on the ones he thinks are "boring!"  Ha!  "Boring to be honest!  Too short!"  Ha!  "That one too short too!!"

Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Reid - 2/7/2017

Reid ate many servings of breakfast: waffles and pears.  For lunch he ate tuna & crackers, no sweet potatoes, and ate mandarin oranges.  When he asked for more pears at breakfast he said, "Why don't you give me the whole bowl!?"  Good question because I usually do!  Ha!  I was thinking Hudson may want more!  Reid ate all the waffles and I put another one in the toaster.  He said, "Can't you just go check on it!?!"  I was glad I did - I'd forgot to push it down!  Hahaha!  (I made sure I didn't tell him of my incompetency!!!  LOL!)

This first picture goes with a story at lunch time.  He came out to lunch with only one sock on and was "complaining" about his foot being cold.  So I sent him back in to retrieve his other sock!  Well he was just being silly and he'd put both socks on one foot!  Goofy sucker!  He thought that was hilarious to trick me like that!  So he asked me if I could "take a picture of this hock on this hock!!" Ha!  Ok, I can do that!  So later he was sitting there looking at his sweet potatoes and said, "Can you put halt on my....."  (That's what I heard!)  So I went and got the salt and put some on his sweet potatoes.  "Noooooo...hock on my Blog!!!"  Hahahaahaaaaa!  Oh man I roared!!  So stinking funny! Ok Reido, I'll but this all on your Blog!  I Love this Boy!!  He sure makes me laugh!  And after all of that he never did eat any sweet potatoes!!

Here's what happens when Lauralea teaches at night and goes to work later in the day!!  Ponytails for the girls, songs with kids on her knees, Story Time, and I get to take pictures.  Sweet!  (If you look closely you can see Avilene has her first ponytail at Little Treasures!  A sliver of hair sticking up! Ha!)  After one of the books Reid said, "That was boring!"  Why was that boring?  "Too short!"  Haha!  After Lauralea read a few books Sophie said, "More books!!"  Reid does this big exaggerated sigh: "How many are there!?!"  LOL!  One of the books had a butterfly in it and Reid said, "You gotta be a caterpillar to get one of those!!"  :)  Reid doesn't look very "bored" in the bottom picture to me!!

Friday, February 3, 2017

Reid - 2/3/2017

Reid ate oatmeal and canned prunes for breakfast.  He ate several prunes and said, "These (pointing to the prunes) are better than sweet potatoes!"  Haha!!  Of course, that isn't saying much because he doesn't like sweet potatoes.  I think the correlation was the fact that I'm always trying to get him to try both of those foods.  For lunch he ate hash brown casserole, 2 biscuits, and 3 servings of mandarin oranges.

Here are some Reid-ism's from today: Sophie is not here today - home with a bad cold.  So I was eating her bowl of oatmeal after breakfast.  Reid said, "You are SO weird!"  Ha!  Made me laugh. Then he said, "I say that to my Mom every single time!"  :)  At the breakfast table Hudson was tipping his head sideways and kind of laying it on his highchair tray.  Then saying, "night night, night night." Reid yelled, "WAKE UP!!"  Hudson thought that was funny and giggled.  Reid said, "I wish it could be hummer every day!"  Hummer!?  Oh yes, SUMMER!  Me too!  :)  Then Reid was watching a couple of crows out the window.  He said, "I wish we could kill one and eat it!"  You certainly can and I'll mention it to your Dad!!  Ha!!  :)  I asked Hudson if he wanted to come wave at Daddy and Reid said, "Uncle Colin."  Haha!

This first picture is from yesterday afternoon when Reid just woke up from his nap.  Kenzie was being sweet to Reid and snuggling with him and Hudson didn't want to miss out on that.  The Bubba boy likes to snuggle.  I think this is so cute and sweet.  :)

This picture is also from yesterday afternoon:  Riley and Kenzie were in the igloo after they all built this block wall across the front - under Kenzie's supervision of course!!  :)  She had them put holes in it so they could peek in, or stick their arm in like Reid is doing.  They said they were reaching in and searching for "treasures."  The people in the igloo were in charge of distributing the treasures.  And they were taking turns being in the igloo and being the treasure hunter!

Reid asked if he could go get the "big bears."  He was being silly and stuffed the panda bear under the dining table.  Then he yelled for me, "Hey Gary!  Look under your table!!"  :)  Silly Reid!

Reid - 2/2/2017

Reid was snoozing before breakfast again.  At least he sure appeared to be asleep; for probably 20 minutes.  (See picture below!)  He woke up, came out to the lunch room where we were eating, took a long look at the food (flat bread and tropical fruit which he normally likes), never said anything, just shook his head and went back to the chair!  Are you SURE you don't want to eat?!?  (And I offered breakfast two more times.)  "Yup!"  By Lunch time he was convinced he was on the verge of starving to death and was the first one in the Lunch Room and sitting at the table!  He thought Avilene was slowing down the progress of getting his food at Lunch and told her, "Stop banging that gate and get in here!!"  Ha!!  For lunch he ate turkey slices, bites of dinner roll, green beans, and three servings of mangoes.  I gave him five green beans and he asked me to "put some halt on it!"  He ate the five and asked, "More green beans with more halt."  I just about fell off the chair!!  That was definitely a FIRST!  What is halt you ask!?  Clue: "We (Christians) are to be the halt of the earth!!" :)  I know that you already knew the answer to "halt," but I couldn't help myself!  :)

I took this first picture before breakfast when Reid had actually gone to sleep.  Hudson and Avilene LOVE to rock this chair and they started rocking after Reid had been there for 15 minutes.  I found it quite entertaining!!  And Reid didn't seem to care at all!  I finally distracted them in a different direction.  I thought it might be better if Reid woke up in a less disruptive manner!  Ha!

Reid told me this morning that "Mom told me Dad gonna work four weeks - Mom gonna pick me up!"  Later he changed his story to four nights!  I thought that was pretty good!!

Reid asked if he could go get the Big Bears and dragged them down the hall.  He came out and said, "I need energy."  Did you say you need energy!?!  He said, "Well I out energy when get the Big Bears out!"    That was a good job of expressing himself!  Also, when he went potty he got into the bathroom closet and got his "replacement blanket" when he forgets "Blue Blanket."  (He knows where we store the other one and frequently asks for it anyhow!)  He was totally covered with it and said, "I'm under this massive blanket!"  Ha!  It's kind of big, but I've never considered it "massive!!"

Reid - 2/1/2017

Reid ate two servings of toast and ate blueberries for breakfast.  I just HAVE to mention this: Momma Lesley told me Reid ate eggs and toast at home and here's what Reid said during breakfast: "I just had some toast...this is better toast than what I just had!"  LOL!!  Sorry, I'm just the reporter!! I'm getting very prideful of my toast.  :)  For lunch he ate chicken, lots of elbow noodles, two servings of applesauce, and ate half of his strawberries.

I'd apparently dropped my hearing aids on the floor by the dining table- I didn't realize that and then I couldn't find them.  Reid spotted them - thank you Reid - and I was grateful I'd not stepped on them.  I told Reid they were expensive and cost a lot of money.  I guess he felt the need to encourage me not to waste my money on such things!! "Never ever ever waste your money on two hearing aids!"  LOL!  I roared!  Well thank you Reid, but I love my hearing aids and they are worth every penny!

He hauled out the big bears again.  His primary reason for bringing them out is for me to throw them at him.  Ha!  He did jump on them and over them for awhile though.  He jumped over them and said, "It Wall of China."  Isn't that funny?

Here is a picture of Reid playing with that Tablet again.  He asked if he could play and I'm limiting him on how much he can play it.  He did lots of counting games this morning and was showing me the watermelons; "Hey Gary!  These watermelons are Massive!!  Huge!!"  Ha!!  He worked hard at the counting and brought it to me when he was done; "That was hard work!"  Good!  We did some Dot Painting and he enjoyed Story Time as well.
