Reid - 9/30/2016

Reid ate a big bowl of oatmeal and two servings of cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, large bowl of whole wheat elbow noodles, half of peas, and three servings of applesauce.  He spotted Lauralea eating her breakfast first thing this morning and said, "Oh no!  Did I miss breakfast?!?"  Hahaha!  We roared!  Lauralea asked him if he liked oatmeal and he said, "Yah, with those!!"  He was pointing at the dried cranberries.  She asked him if he liked craisins.  He said, "Yah! We don't have them at home!!"  :)

He was at the window waving at Lesley when she drove by.  He said, "I blow her a hug!"  I thought that was so sweet!  I've never heard a kid say that before.  He thought about it for a minute and added; "When I was doing that her staring at me happy!"  You are very sweet Reid.

Here's a picture of Reid at Art Time.  I got out all the big stamping supplies and he had lots of fun with it. He listened to my instructions well and followed what I asked him to do.  Nice job Reid.  There were several things - one of them was to set the "wet" stamps on the floor with the wet side pointing up after he was done with each one.  I was kind of busy feeding babies and so he did several minutes with no supervision.  I asked him if he remembered to set them with the wet side up.  He said, "I never forget!"  Ha!  Ok good, but I'm still going to remind you.  :)

We read lots of books and there is a great illustrated story by Dr. Seuss called "Wacky Wednesday." It's a favorite and all the kids love that one.  It's interactive and they get to spot all the "wacky" things on each page and it tells you how many to look for.  Lately, Reid has been wanting to "count" everything.  And he does great one-to-one correspondence counting.  You can teach a child to "count" to ten when they learn to talk.  But actual "counting" is obviously something completely different and he is doing great with that!

Reid - 9/29/2016

Reid ate two servings of raisin english muffin and a big bowl full of blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate MANY turkey slices, flat bread, three or four green beans, and two servings of strawberries.  At breakfast time I took this picture when Reid was regaling Nora with some insights into life.  He told her "if you eat too many blueberries, you turn into a blueberry!"  Believe me Reid, if that were true you would be a huge blueberry.

Reid had to show me that his bandaid was off!  So how did you get it off?  "Well," he said.  "It was kind of tricky!  Dad said you not feel a thing; I just felt one little thing!"  Ha!  "And that how we got the bandaid off!"  I so remember how traumatized he'd get when he was little and needed a bandaid. I'd only put a bandaid on him if he was bleeding!  Bleeding he could deal with; but the moment I put a bandaid on him, he could no longer walk and he'd start to wail!  :)

Hey!  I was pretty proud of myself this morning!  Reid was talking about something called; "lato nake."  I only had to ask for a repeat once, maybe twice!  What do you think it is?  Here's the big hint in a sentence!  (He didn't use this sentence until After I figured it out!)  "One time Tate almost got bit by a Lato Nake!"  That's right!  Rattlesnake.  :)

Reid has done very well this week with only the two babies here.  He's sweet to them and he's entertained himself very well.  He was building with the legos when I took this picture.  He said, "building a car."  Then after more modifications he said, "a car that can fly."  :)  Moments after I took this picture he was done and disassembled/destroyed his product with pieces flying in the drawer.  Avilene watched in wonder and amazement!  Ha!

Reid - 9/28/2016

I said today is the 28th.  Reid said, "I thought it was the 39th!"  Well, that's close.  :)   "I took a 30 hour-minute sleep!  I woke up at 40 o'clock!"  Here's the one I really like from this morning - the new HTZ!!  (Heaven Time Zone)  He said, "It's heaven o'clock!!"  Ha!  (7 o'clock for anyone who reads this and doesn't know Reid!!)  :)

For breakfast he ate several pieces of jelly toast and lots of mangoes.  For lunch more jelly!!  Except peanut butter and jelly this time, not toasted!!  No electricity for about 4 hours today so I couldn't heat up the burritos as planned!  I think he likes the PB&J better anyhow!!  He might have had a couple bites of yams, and he ate his tropical fruit.

As I mentioned above we were without electricity this morning.  So after I got the Babies to sleep Reid and I went outside for awhile and watched the workers.  (You noticed Reid at the bottom of the picture, right!?)  There were 5 Service trucks parked outside for awhile!  It was a challenge to get the baby's bottles heated up, no sound machines, etc,..., but it all worked out just fine.  We were really "roughing it!!"  Ha!

Before we went back in the house this morning Reid played with some patio toys in the tubs.  We usually get those out on rainy days, but today was a good day for them too!!  Reid said, "It really fun to play with these toys!"  And he climbed on the climbers and I took this next picture when he was pretending to be falling off!  He was talking about going to California and this is kind of how it went: "We went to California.  There a volcano there!"  Oooohhh!  Were you close to the volcano?  "No, we were far from the volcano."  How did you know there were volcanoes?  "Bode told me there was mostly a volcano everywhere.  We were on the hot planet!"  Ohhhh...  :)

Reid - 9/23/2016

Reid ate several bites of brown rice and three servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate half of his meat (turkey) loaf, ate flat bread, bite of carrots, and ate apricots.  This first picture is from breakfast time and their conversation was SO cute.  It kind of started earlier when they were playing on the blocks (bottom picture) and Sophie had her baby and Lauralea asked if Reid was "Daddy."  So at breakfast Sophie looked at Reid, scooted over close to him, put her arm around him, and said, "Hi Dad."  LOL!  Cracked me up!  In the picture you can see Reid pointing and he was saying, "Scoot back.  Your spot is over there."  And apparently he used his other hand to start sliding her back.  She said, "Do NOT push me!"  Ha!  Look at her determined little face!

This picture was earlier than the first picture above.  Happier times in the relationship!  Ha!  Sophie was going back-n-forth to the other side of the room getting more supplies for going to the "lake." Reid asked again; "Lake Como?"  This time Sophie said, "no."  But she didn't offer any other information so I guess it was to be a surprise.  Ha!  She said, "Oh no! I forgot diapers and wipes!!"  So she went and got those.  "Ok, I got them."  Then, "Get my purse."  Then, "Get me car. The black one."  "Where's my key? I'll go get it."  Reid was totally content to just sit there watching her trek back-n-forth and listen to her jabber.  So cute.

I always ask the kids what they did last night and Reid said, "Nothing!  Just waiting for the Double Birthday Party."  Ha!  Cute.  We also did some coloring at art, read books, and did some sign language.  I'm impressed with how much they are remembering with the signs.  Good job Reid and Sophie.

Reid - 9/22/2016

I asked Reid if he liked cinnamon toast and grapes and he apparently thought it was necessary to make an Announcement before Breakfast:  "If I only eat one serving that will make me way hungrier!!"  Ok, that's good to know and I'll keep it in mind!  :)  For breakfast he ate three servings of cinnamon toast and three servings of grapes.  And he had a big lunch as well; two servings of baked chicken, ate dinner roll, a couple bites of hash browns, and three servings of canned cherries.

I'd told him to pull up his long sleeves before he washed.  One was coming back down and starting to get wet.  He said, "Well actually Gary, every single clothes I have will dry."  Ok, well never mind then!  Ha!

I'd dropped the cap off my water bottle and it had rolled under the dining table.  I didn't spot it and I said, "I don't see the lid!"  Reid spotted it and said, "Because you're color blind and I'm not!"  LOL This boy cracks me up!!

Sophie is not here today so while the babies were sleeping at the same time it was just Reid and Bubba hanging out.  Reid was very sweet to him and played with Bubba a lot this morning.  I took this next picture when Hudson was laying his head on the chair in front of Reid.  Of course there was some drool running out of his mouth and puddled up on the chair.  That's what the following picture is about - examining the drool.  Reid said, "Ok!  He just drooled on the chair and I have no way to escape!!"  Haha!

Hudson strolled around with the play phones and was saying, "Momma, Momma, Momma."  Finally Reid said, "I'm NOT your Momma Bubba!!"  Ha!  Even when our home phone rings Hudson says, "Momma."  :)  They also played with the building blocks and Reid said, "I'm building us a house Bubba!"  And Hudson stacked a few blocks as well.  I told Reid thanks for being so sweet to Hudson and he said, "When I talk to him he do the thing I want him to do!"

Reid - 9/21/2016

Reid ate bagel and three servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of ham, at least three servings of elbow (and rotini) noodles, ate corn, and apple slices.  I told him I ran out of elbow noodles and forgot to get more.  He loved the whole wheat rotini noodles as well.  Also, I've started letting him turn the water on and off and get his own paper towel to dry.  He said, "3 Year olds can't do it!  4 year olds can do it!"  :)  That's right!!

Reid walked in this morning, saw the block structure that Kenzie and Riley had built yesterday.  He asked, "Can I blow it up!?!"  Haha!  That cracked me up!!  So I told him he could, but he'd have to help me clean up the mess.  He wasn't real thrilled with that turn of events, but we did it!  Ha!

I think it's hilarious that he frequently resorts to "spelling" the words when I ask him to repeat something.  Usually by the 3rd request he'll say something like; "BLOPO!"  Oh thank you Reid, that helps a lot!!  Ha!  He was trying to find one of his Star War toys that Bubba had deposited somewhere.  He said, "If you find a little bit of red and a little bit of black, that's it!!"  "What's missing?" I asked.  He said, "OERITY fighter!"  :)

I took this picture either yesterday or Monday.  I thought it was so cute how Avi was totally watching every thing Reid was doing with the little people.

Reid and Sophie did some gluing and stickers this morning.  He was using the glue stick and he had a great idea that he thought would be easier!  "I'm putting glue on the paper!"  Instead of glue on the object.  He just didn't get enough glue on either one, but it was a great job of problem solving!  I was impressed.

Reid - 9/16/2016

Reid ate oatmeal and canned prunes for breakfast.  (It's pretty cool that he's eating and liking those prunes now!  At least I feel successful!  Ha!  Oh that's right!  It's not about me!!)  For lunch he ate a large serving of hash brown casserole, ate two large biscuits, and three servings of mandarin oranges.  I was feeding Baby Nora and Lauralea asked if I'd like her to start the oatmeal for us.  Reid yelled, "YES!"  She asked me how many servings and he said, "18!!"  :)  And that pretty much sums up his appetite!!

Today's Blog will not have any pictures due to some issues with the computer recognizing the camera.  I hope to have this resolved over the weekend because, like I've mentioned before, the Blogs are so much easier and informative with the pictures.

Sophie picked up a purse and said, "Lake."  Haha!  She's been going to the "Lake" everyday this week.  I guess going to the Lake left a big impression with her.  She was stuffing lots of cookies in her purse and I asked, "What's in your purse?"  Reid yells, "Goodies!!"  That made me laugh and he said, "Wasn't that a good guess?!?"  He had one of the cookies and was keeping it from her and teasing her a little bit.  Then she tried to "buy" it from him!!  She held out her hand and said, "my money."  She's already learning you have to exchange something to get something.  Love it.

One of the pictures I took this morning was Sophie and Reid bouncing on some bubble wrap in the lunch room.  Sophie quickly got the hang of it and was able to pop several of them.  She was stomping on them and also doing some jumping.  Of course after Reid popped all of his, he was more than willing to help her pop some!

Here's a couple of funny quotes from Reid this morning:
He was talking at length about going to Denver and moaning about how long of a trip it was!  He finally summed it up by saying, "That why I only want take airplane!"  Ha!
We were talking about something and I said, "What are your goals in life now that you're almost 4 years old!?!"  He said, "Maybe just go to bed!"  Haha!

Reid - 9/15/2016

Reid ate three servings of pocket thins filled with mixed berries.  Ha!  Picture below tells the story! He said, "It's gonna be like a fish taco!"  He was talking about some kind of food and said, "Smells good; tastes bad!"  He cracks me up!  For lunch he ate three servings of turkey slices, ate dinner roll, several green beans, and three servings of mangoes.  Reid did a loud burp and said, "Excuse me for Pete hake!!"  Haha!  Also at breakfast time the sun was shining in Hudson's eyes so I closed the blinds. Reid said, "I want the power on!!"  :)

Sophie is not here today so it was just Hudson and Reid with the two little ones.  Hudson was going in the igloo while Reid was laying across the top of it.  Then when Bubba was inside Reid would hang over the igloo opening and look at Bubba (upside-down) and Hudson thought that was so funny. He was laughing hard.

I took this picture when Reid was trying to give Hudson instructions on how to spin the accessory on the Baby's saucer.  :)  Actually Bubba was doing just fine with it, but I guess Reid thought he needed some additional help!  Reid was helping quiet the baby and he said, "I think her like it."  Then she started yelling and Reid said, "Hey! Play with the toy!  Gary!  Let's put her to sleep!"  :)

Reid was doing lots of birthday talk this morning.  He said, "It's a long way to Marilyn Park; up an enormous hill!!"  We also did some dot painting at Art Time and Reid was telling me the colors of the paints.  He said, "You know why I say it's green?   Because it's green on top!"  Nicely done Reid; I say it's green because I can read the label!  :)

Reid - 9/14/2016

Reid ate three servings of breakfast:  Whole wheat toast and cantaloupe.  For lunch he ate three servings of ham, three servings of crackers, couple bites of bean & bacon soup, and three servings of strawberries.  At breakfast (before Sophie arrived) I said, "Where you at Sophie?"  Reid said, "Just call her Dad!"  (In a tone that said, "Duhhhh.")  Reid looked at her elbow at lunch time and while pointing at it said, "Her have a red spot on her ankle."  Ha!  (She apparently laid her elbow in one of the ink pads at Art Time while we were stamping.)

I took this first picture yesterday afternoon when Reid was going around hugging the little ones.  It was so sweet.  Reid has a couple of "transformers" in his hands that Hudson is focused on.  About the same time as I was taking this picture Reid said, "Uhhhh...Gary..He's poopy!"  Haha!  Thank you Reid!!  Update from this morning - the same identical thing happened!  While I was taking a picture Hudson was sitting on Reid's lap on the mattress and Reid said, "Uhhh...Gary...He's poopy!"

A song was playing on the iPod; "The Big Rock Candy Mountain."  (At least I think that's the name of it!)  I asked Reid, "Have you ever seen the Big Rock Candy Mountain?"  He said, "Yup!  We climbed up there!  We left my Thor Hammer by the waterfall!"  Haha!!  (I'm assuming that was at Holland Lake.)

Sophie and Reid were playing with the Big Bears on the mattress and she jumped on a bear while Reid was under it.  He said, "Whoa! How much do you weigh Hofie!?!"  Ha!  She also played with the tutus and carrying her purse again.  She was yelling, "Bye everyone, bye everyone!"  Where are you going Sophie?  Same as yesterday she said, "Uhhhmmm...lake."  Reid yelled, "Ya mean Lake Como!?" Sophie said, "Yah, lake Como."  Ha!  I roared.  Reid remembers lots of names of places he went this summer.

I was feeding Baby Nora and Reid was looking at himself in the biggest mirror.  That mirror will distort at certain angles and levels!  At first I didn't realize what he was doing.  He said, "You gotta look at this Gary!!"  Well I can see you just fine.  "No!  In the mirror."  What do you see?  "I have a tiny body and a big head!!?!!"  It was pretty funny!!

Reid - 9/13/2016

Reid ate three servings of bagels and ate apricots for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken, three servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and three servings of applesauce.  At breakfast Sophie got her bib and took it to Reid so he could put it on her.  She's done that several times, but this morning he got her hair caught in the "bib tightener" (whatever it's called).  She didn't cry, but stood there saying, "ouch ouch" and I quickly fixed it for her.  (I noticed at Lunch she didn't ask for his assistance!  Ha!)  But he loves helping her.

When the Cline girls are here in the afternoon I sometimes say, "Kenzie I'm going to the bathroom, will you keep an eye on the babies?"  She always says, "Ok everyone, I'm in charge!"  Ha.  This morning I said I was going to the bathroom room and Reid said, "I'm in charge!"  Ha!

Baby Nora was tired and squealing this morning when I was feeding Baby Avi.  She was in the saucer and Reid was spinning one of the toys keeping her distracted.  He said, "I know how to make her stop."  Thank you Reid.  Then he asked, "Do you have more Babies coming up?"  Not for a long time.  He said, "Good, her be squealing if you have more babies!"  Haha!  He makes me laugh!

I took this picture when Reid put the yellow bench on end and then perched on it.  He said, "I'm a monkey."  Yup.  He was also playing with the blocks and asked, "Hofie, can you help me build this sidewalk?"  Sophie was reading a book on the couch and said, "In minute.  Read book."  Cute!

He was talking a lot about apples this morning and then it continued when he was eating applesauce at lunch time.  He said, "We got way bunch more!!  Four bags full!  Too much!  We make applesauce!"  Well that's a good idea.  Do you know how to make applesauce?  "Yup!  Take lots of apples, mix em up, and you have applesauce!"  :)

Reid - 9/12/2016

Reid ate half of raisin bran cereal and ate his cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate lots of Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich (in place of cheese pizza), ate corn, and two servings of tropical fruit.

Baby Nora got tired fairly quickly first thing this morning and started crying.  Reid said, "Let's put her to sleep!  Ha!!  On the way back from Nora's bedroom he went through the kitchen and pointed at the brand name on the dishwasher.  He was excited to see a Brandname he recognized!  (Samsung)  He said, "You guys have a Ham-Hung too?!!"  I was pretty certain that was what he said, but I asked him, "Did you say Samsung?"  He said, "Affirmative...Do you know what that means?"  Yes, but do you?  He said, "It mean Yes."  :)  Very good Reid,

It didn't take Reid long to start asking about elbow noodles!  At 8:20 this morning he asked if we could eat elbow noodles today.  LOL!  Well, actually the menu calls for elbow noodles tomorrow Reid so you're in the right place!!

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend.  We read lots of books and then did some golf ball painting at Art Time.  In the picture below Sophie is keeping a close eye on how Reid's doing it. When it was Sophie's turn, Reid kept a close eye on her as well and was telling her when and how to tip the pan.  Thanks for being a good helper Reid!

He and Sophie got out the Big Bears and I took this picture of Reid building a "cage" around the Panda Bear.  He asked; "Can we leave it (cage) up for 82 hours?"  I think it's cute how 82 seems to be his 'default' number!  Cooper's default number was 100.

Reid - 9/9/2016

Reid ate Malt-o-Meal cereal and two servings of raisins for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of ground turkey, three servings of his beloved whole wheat elbow noodles, three servings of mixed fruit, and two servings of applesauce.

Reid basically started right where he left off yesterday - building with the blocks.  I took this picture of his creation.  He said, "I'm gonna make humthing for the Cline Family."  Which I thought was very sweet.  Except later he said, "If you stand on this - that's gonna be a booby-tap and it will explode!"  Hahaha!  Also notice the blanket in the picture.  He was a little distressed that he'd left his blanket at home so he and I found this one and he was satisfied.  It's one that he's used here before.

Later he was doing more block building and barricaded the gate again.  Except I was cleaning up the breakfast table and he said, "You have one hecond to get out!!"  Ha!  Then I took this next picture when he was seeing how far down the igloo he could walk.  :)  Speaking of igloo he was hiding all his Star War toys in the igloo so Baby Avi couldn't get them.  He actually doesn't mind sharing with her - it's just the threat of "puke on the toys" that he doesn't want.  Ha!

Here's a picture of Reid spraying water on his art.  It's fun watching the water run and spread the colors around on the coffee filter.  He did 3 of them.  He said, "You know why I painted those?"  Why?  "I think my Mom would love them!"  Sweet Reid.

Reid - 9/8/2016

Reid ate lots of breakfast: raisin english muffins and blueberries.  For lunch he ate two servings of chicken, ate crackers, most of sweet potatoes, and two servings of canned cherries.

This first picture is Reid flexing his strength!  I said, "You're pretty powerful!"  He agreed!  "Yes I am."  Ha!  He and Sophie worked hard at the blocks and he said, "Gary! I think we need some muick here!" Music?  "Yup."  So Sophie starts singing!!"  Hahahaha!  There you go Reid!!  Cracked me up!

He was hanging his head over the couch and into the Baby area!  Ha!  Her little eyes were glued on Reid.  He was making funny sounds and said, "Gary, can you put this in my Blog?!?"  Ok, here it is. We also read lots of books and he and Sophie jumped on the mattress.

Here are a couple pictures of Reid doing some awesome work building with the big blocks.  He was working hard at it.  In the first picture (it's kind of hard to see because it's hidden behind his legs) there is a blue block that was sticking out close to the bottom.  It was the important "lever" to step on and collapse the entire thing.  He asked me, "Do you know how to BLOW this thing!?"  (How to collapse it.)  He said, "With this lever!"  And he stomps on the lever and it worked perfectly as his hard work tumbled to the ground.  Ha!  Well done Reid!  The 2nd picture was hilarious!  He had this one built up to block the gate - "no one can get in!"  (The first one was built to block the igloo.  "No one can get in!")  Anyhow, if you look close at the 2nd picture it's built on ONE block.  Ha!  It was starting to topple as I took the picture and you can see he's kind of ducking away from it!  His eyes were pretty wide after it crashed!

Reid - 9/7/2016

Reid ate two biscuits ("can I have both of those guys?") and three servings of peaches (can I have the entire thing!?") for breakfast.  For lunch he ate baked beans, two servings of dinner roll, most of peas, and two servings of crushed pineapple.  At lunch he thought someone took a bite of his food off his plate and apparently I was the obvious culprit!  Hahaha!!  "Was that you that took a bite of this!?!"  Off your plate?  "Yes."  Nope, not me!  I seriously have no desire to eat food off the plates of children.  Ha!  (For so many reasons!!)

I took this picture of Reid at the breakfast table and he'd scooted over to visit with Baby Nora.  Actually he was just studying her face pretty closely.  He said, "Her have blue eyes too!"  Earlier Lauralea had taken a picture of Hudson when he was snuggling with me and Reid tried to "photo bomb" it again!  He's been trained well by those two big brothers.  :)

Speaking of Baby Nora I was feeding her a bottle of milk and Reid asked if I'd read books to him.  I told him I wouldn't feed the baby and read at the same time.  He said, "I can! I can do EVERYTHING on my own!"  Oh man, I roared!  He totally cracks me up.  It must be nice to be 3 years old and know everything!!  :)  I had been reading to him earlier before Lauralea left ("Over the River" book again) and she asked Reid; "Is that your favorite book?"  He said, "No, it's OUR favorite!"  (Reid and Gary)  Ha!  He 'gets' a lot of the humor (I've explained some of the pictures to him) in the art work and it's really quite hilarious!

Reid asked if he could paint at Art Time and Sophie joined him.  Reid used the paint brush, but Sophie was more inclined to just use her hands.  :)

Reid - 9/6/2016I

Reid was here for only 2 hours (almost) today, but I'll do a short Blog for him anyhow.  For breakfast he was delighted to see waffles!  He made his usual comment when it's a favorite; "I'm gonna eat all day and all night!!"  He had three servings of waffles and ate hash browns.

I was going to have him practice saying some "s" words, but he wasn't really wanting to and I don't force it in that situation.  I asked him; "Do you remember my last name?"  "No."  So I said it for him and asked him to say it.  He said, "Awwww!!"  And stuck his head under his blanket.  :)  Ok, that's fine.  We'll try at another time.

He watched me change Hudson's diaper.  He noticed the bumps or blisters (whatever they're called) from the "hand-foot-mouth thing" and he said, "I wouldn't touch him if I was you!"  Oh, I roared!  That just cracked me up!  Well, Hudson is probably thankful that I'm his Caregiver and not you Reid!!  Haha!!

I asked him if he knew what animal we typically get "bacon" from.  He looked at the alphabet poster which has an animal starting with every letter of the alphabet.  He said, "penguin."  :)  Well at least he had the "p" letter!!  Nope, so he said, "lion."  Nope, so he said, "buffalo."  It was pretty funny.  (I did let him know it's typically from a pig.)

Reid - 9/2/2016

Reid ate oatmeal and three servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate a large serving of ground turkey, three servings of elbow noodles, bite of peas, and three servings of applesauce (which he mixed with his elbow noodles).  When he was mixing the applesauce and noodles he asked, "Can you put that on my Blog?!?"  Ha!  Yup I can and here it is.

I took these two pictures this morning after Reid had finished his oatmeal and I'd let Avi join us at the breakfast table.  He was still eating dried cranberries and she moved around the table and was trying to grab them and/or his almond milk.  Look at her face in the 2nd picture - I LOVE it.  So cute.  And she was totally being a stinker.  He kept moving around the table to stay away from her.  It was pretty funny.  I took several pictures and then kept the two that I liked best.  Reid called one of them a "photo bomb."  "I did a photo bomb!"  (I'm not sure how you photo bomb your own picture.  Ha! I do know what he was meaning though.  He laid his head down on the table in front of Avi.)

Reid wanted to read some books and was trying to tell me which one he wanted.  Here are the hints he was giving and I finally figured it out!!  "Your favorite!"  Hmmm....I actually like LOTS of the books so that really wasn't much help.  "The Funny Book!"  Hmmm...Pretty much the same as the last hint; several are quite funny and I find lots of them humorous!  "Hunting for chickens book!"  Ok, now that might be narrowing it down.  Is it the Wolf fattening up the Chicken for Supper book?  "Nope."  Rats, I thought I was getting close!  :)  We finally found it!  "Over the River - A Turkey's Tale."  The Hunter is trying to teach his Dog to hunt Turkeys, but the Dog ends up eating Thanksgiving Dinner with the family of Turkeys and the Hunter can't figure out where his dog went!! So it was about Turkeys, not chickens.  That was close though.

We decided to wait and do some Art with Kenzie and Riley after they come from school.  We found his "missing" Star Wars "thing" in the legos drawer so that was one highlight of the morning!  :)  We also looked at the Bear cam to see if they were still catching salmon in Alaska.  Nope.  (Explore. org is a great website with lots of animal web cams.)  We looked at some jellyfish, sea dragons, dogs, cats, owl nests, osprey nests, etc.

Reid - 9/1/2016

Reid ate two servings of raisin english muffin and three servings of blueberries for breakfast.  (I'm being very conservative in my estimation of serving size!! Ha!!)  I took the picture below after Sophie and Reid were done with blueberries.  These two characters devoured a heaping bowl full of berries!!  Reid looked at Sophie at breakfast and said, "If you eat too many blueberries you turn into a blueberry."  She said, "Yup."  :)  He said, "I'm never gonna get full."  Then at 10:00 he said, "Gary, feed me!!"  Hahaha!  For lunch he ate three servings of turkey slices, bites of sandwich thin, bite of green beans (donated those to Sophie), and ate strawberries.

We did some stickers and tape at Art Time.  Reid saw the "cat stickers" and said, "My Mom's allergic to cats, but NOT cat hicker!"  (sticker)  LOL, I roared!!!  He totally cracks me up!  One of the duct tape rolls has penguins on it.  He said, "After our dog died we had pet penguin."  Oh really, where'd it go?  "It run off; we still have penguin food."  :)

I asked Reid if I could take a picture of him with Baby Nora.  So he totally cooperated and asked, "Why is that baby staring at me?"  Ha!  She wasn't when I took the picture!  :)

I was trying to get Reid to say my name; "Gary Sanks."  Of course it was "Gary Hanks."  Then he said, "Hofie Hanks."  LOL  I roared!!  Another Reid story - I guess it was the first time Reid noticed Sophie's teeth.  :)  He said, "Hey Gary! Hofie just got her top teeth done!!"  What do you mean?  "They are all there!"  :)  Another Reid story - He had made his weapon from the legos and I told him not to shoot me because I was there to feed him.  Ha!  He said, "I can do it."  What would you make for lunch?  His immediate response, "Elbow noodles!"  Haha!  How would you fix it?  "Buttermilk and ...."  I tried over and over to figure out what he said, but I never could get the 2nd part.
