Reid - 2/29/2016

Reid ate chex cereal and three servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch he ate three servings of beef sandwich, drank most of his tomato soup (with a straw) and ate crackers, and had a good lick of beets.  :)  Meal-time conversation: Cooper said, "My Star War socks keep me dry!"  How does that work?  "Well, uhhh....protection!"  Ok.  At lunch Cooper said, "I like this stuff!  It's even better with crackers!!"(That would be tomato soup THICK with crackers.)  Reid said, "Not for me."  Ha!

After Reid arrived the boys were playing with the "oven" in the barbecue.  They were using the legos for their cookies and I loved their conversation.  Cooper said, "My Mom says to cook them longer!"  Reid said, "My Mom says put the whole plate in!"  Both of them were referring to their cookies as "chocolate chip cookies!"

I have to post some more pictures of 3 year old hide-n-seek.  It's so cute and entertaining and they are having a blast with their game.  The entire game of hide-n-seek was played in this corner; about a 4 X 4 area!!  (Locating someone is so much easier that way!!)  I posted a picture of both counting (with their eyes closed) and a picture of both of them hiding.  "My turn to count!"  "I see you!"  They went back-n-forth probably 5 - 7 times.  One interesting side note; see Sophie in the mirror in the top picture.  She's intently watching and learning.  And they invited her to join them and she knew just what to do.  They both "hid" behind the chair and she crawled up in the chair and "counted."

Reid - 2/23/2016

Reid ate two servings of blueberry bagel and ate apricots for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken, three servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce.  The Food Monitor showed up at breakfast time to make sure every thing was "kosher!"  Ha!  (Sorry, that was just me humoring myself! I really don't serve only food that meets strict Jewish dietary laws.)  Actually there were two of them - one lady was from the State monitoring the Monitor to make sure she was doing it right.  (I also found humor in that! I wanted to ask them who was monitoring the monitor who...never mind!)

In this first picture the boys are building with the legos and playing with the ice cream.  Now I'll tell you what they're "actually" doing!  Cooper was building "guns" with the legos and when he finished the one you see him working on he walked over to Sophie and said, "Hey Soph! What do you think of my gun!? This was invented by me!!"  It was SO CUTE!!  He was very proud of his accomplishment.  And the ice cream flavors - Reid said, "These are bombs!!"  Ha!

These fun-loving boys always impress me with their sharp intellect!  However, I'm posting this picture to prove they still have some learning to do!  Ha!  Here's what Cooper was saying to Reid when I took this picture: "Hey Reido!  Throw a ball at my hat!!"  LOL  Love it!!  And by Reid's expression I think he may realize where this is all headed!!

Reid - 2/22/2016

Reid ate raisin bran cereal and two servings of dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate most of canadian bacon pizza, ate corn, and two servings of tropical fruit.  I was asking the boys what they did and Reid said, "I blew bubbles."  Cooper said, "Last night it was too cold to do bubbles; they turn to icicles.  And then you have to step on them to crunch them."  :)

Cooper and Reid were looking for the plastic container that Cooper brought his Star Wars cars and people in.  I knew where it was at, but I was wanting them to search a little.  They quickly (immediately) lost interest and moved on to something else.  Ha!  I showed Reid where it was at and of course, in typical 3 year old fashion, he said, "Hey Coop!!  I found it!!"  :)

Reid gave Sophie a "ride" in the swivel/rocker chair.  She was grinning all over and I didn't let him go very fast!  Ha!  (When Cooper was her age he puked from a ride in that chair!)  Then Reid found one of Sophie's socks on the floor and put it on the changing table for her.  That's a switch!  She is usually picking up his socks.  Good job Reid.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend.  The boys didn't even notice for the first 30 - 40 minutes.  Ha!  They were pretty absorbed in reading the Star Wars books and playing with the cars and people Cooper brought.  So I took a couple of pictures after they'd moved on to play with my stuff!!  :)  They played with the dinosaurs and in the first picture Cooper is hanging them by their tails.  They also played with the ice cream and started using them to cover their ears and eyes.  Reid said, "I have green eye and blue eye."

Reid - 2/16/2016

Reid ate waffle and most of hash browns for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken quesadilla without the cheese, no carrots, and ate mandarin oranges.  At lunch Cooper said, "Gary, I have to tell you something."  Ok. "One time I washed without soap."  :)  After lunch I heard him confessing to Reid as well - "One time I washed without soap."  Reid was apparently impressed; "Wow!"

Cooper said, "Hi Hudson! Try to get me Hudson;  I'm fast!!"  Then he saw Hudson heading for his favorite blanket!  "Noooo!  He's gonna drool on it!!"  Earlier, Reid had said a similar thing when I sat Sophie on his shoulders; "Nooo! She's gonna puke on me!!"  (They have both experienced it!!  Ha!)

We read books, sang songs, did sign language, and we practiced doing the shapes.  When we were doing sign language I did the "I love you" sign.  (There are a couple of different ways to do it, but I used one hand and three fingers - thumb, index finger, and pinkie.  For some reason Reid can do that one quite easily (he's been able to for a long time) and he said, "I can do it!"  So Cooper tried and his thumb and all fingers were pointing straight out.  He said, "I can do it with 5 fingers!"

Here's a couple pictures of the boys playing with the Star War cars.  Reid really liked the book and was matching cars with the characters.  I think the boys are pretty equal in their interest of Star Wars, but Cooper will continue to play with them long after Reid has moved on to something else.  Then Reid will come back and play with them some more.  Cooper allowed Sophie to have ONE car.  "She can have girl car."  (Princess L)  But when she tried to grab another one he said, "These are all boys!  These are all boys!!"  :)  In the second picture the Cooper and Reid are at the sinks and it's their race track.  "This is the starting line!  You get a point for getting them (cars) in here (sinks)."  :)

Reid - 2/11/2016

Reid ate three servings of raisin english muffin and three servings of blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of turkey slices, ate whole wheat sandwich thin, green beans, and half of strawberries.  At breakfast Reid asked, "Why'd the elephant cross the road?"  Why?  "To see the bank."  Ok whatever, but Cooper laughed hard like it was the funniest joke ever and then started saying anything that came to his mind.  It was pretty funny and here's one example: "Why'd the pig cross the bank roof?"  Why?  "To see the construction site."  :)

Apparently Tate has renamed his Dad!  Reid was talking about something and said, "His name is Big D!"  So I asked, "Are you talking about TJ?"  Reid said, "You can call him that name; but you can call him Big D if you want!" Hahaha!

I took this first picture this morning and the two boys were engaged in pretty serious conversation! They were talking about Hudson and Reid asked, "What's his Mom name?!"  Cooper said, "Hudson? Uhhhmmm...Maddy."  Reid said, "No, his other Mom!"  Cooper said, "He doesn't have another Mom!"  :)  In the second picture the boys were playing with Hudson and it was super cute.  This is the first day Hudson has been here this week.

Much of the morning was spent building weapons and chasing off the bad guys.  Cooper built a gun with the legos and said, "This one has 100 bullets in it!"  Then things got a little more serious! They got the toy milk jugs and said, "These are a bomb!"  Good grief!  Reid said, "I love that part; when dinosaur got a gun!!"  (Except he doesn't say the "s" sound, but that sounded a bit crude - you can figure it out!)  Then they found these headbands today and left them on for probably 45 minutes.  (I always think it's funny when the kids find something that's been out all week, but it just went unnoticed.)  Reid kept tipping his head down farther and farther!

Reid - 2/9/2016

Reid ate three servings of cinnamon rolls after he had a bite of canned prunes.  He said (pointing at the cinnamon roll), "I can taste the blueberry in here!"  Hahahaaaa!  Wow, that's interesting!  I told him at Lunch time to get some soap.  He said, "I already have Hope!"  Well, me too Brother, now get some soap.  :)  He ate bean & beef burrito, sweet potatoes, and two servings of tropical fruit.

I was coming back from the bathroom and Reid said, "I got a great idea!" And then he shut the gate in front of me.  He said, "I lock you!"  Ha!  I love how his eyes sparkle when he's doing some mischief!

The boys did some golf ball art at Art Time.  Except I told them today that it was now going to be called; "Goof Balls doing Golf Ball Art."  So I asked, "Who's a goof ball?"  Cooper immediately pointed at Reid and Reid immediately pointed at Sophie.  :)

The boys played with some action figures that Reid brought with him.  They were lining up the guys and then taking turns knocking them off.  Later they had the bananas from the food toys and holding up a banana Cooper said, "These are Alien Guns!!"  Reid looked at me and roared; "ALIEN!!  BOOM!  SHOT YOU!!"  :)  In the second picture the kids had some food toys laid out on their table and they were actually playing with them like food toys!!  :)

Reid - 2/8/2016

Reid had bites of kix cereal and three servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch he ate two servings of ham sandwich, ate peas, and three servings of mandarin oranges.  At breakfast Cooper was showing us the "smiley face" on the back of his hand.  He said, "I got it from Target...Uhhmm actually Walmart....Uhhhmm actually Costco."  :)  Ok, that pretty much covered his shopping trip!

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and the kids were enjoying the new set of toys.  I took a picture of the boys playing with the food toys.  (Just in case anyone ever doubts little boys will make weapons out of ANYTHING!!)  Cooper had the pop-up toaster and the little pieces of "bread" are locked and loaded!  Ha!  They're "shooting" at the little game that Reid brought with him. Reid actually started this game by declaring, "I popped the toast at the bad guy!"  Haha!

I was carrying the breakfast tray into the kitchen and putting some things away and I hear Sophie saying, "No no no no..."  So I'm thinking (and I was right) the boys are doing something they are not supposed to be doing!  Ha!  Thank you Sophie.  I go out and she's demonstratively pointing out their indiscretion - they've got the legos drawer stacked high with everything they can grab.  Pillows, food toys, dolls, doll blankets, etc.  :)  Cooper said, "Reid started it!"  Hahaaa!  It's amazing how quick this age group will throw each other under the bus!!  That always cracks me up!  Then later Sophie kicked Cooper and he said, "Sophie kicked me."  So I told her to be gentle and told Cooper to tell Sophie; "I don't like that."  He said, "I don't like that Kenzo!!"  Then he realized what he'd just said and got a huge grin on his face.

Warning:  This is a little crude, but hey, Reid and I are boys!!  Ha!  I was helping Reid in the bathroom and I tooted.  He said, "This is the farting room!"  LOL

Reid - 2/3/2016

Reid ate blueberry bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  He went to the Dentist before lunch, but made it back before we were all done.  He looked at the bowl of whole wheat elbow noodles and said, "That's too much!"  Haha!  I said, "Well you just eat as much as you want; you don't need to eat it all!"  Then, OF COURSE, he devoured everything and asked for 2nd's on apple slices!  Ha!  He ate ham, elbow noodles, corn, and apples.  By the way, he was so excited to go to the Dentist.  He said, "I'm going to get another golden tooth!!"  :)

While Reid was still eating Lunch Sophie went and found the biggest Captain America feller.  She immediately headed to the door to show Reid.  She played with the smaller ones, but never got her hands on the big one until that moment.  She had the proudest and cheesiest grin on her face.  "Look what I have Reid!!"  It was so cute.

I just wanted to include a picture of the kids playing in our new "secret spot."  I took the door and stairs out of the changing table to give the kids another place to put toys and to play.  And of course it was something different so it was a big hit.  Reid read some books in there after Sophie moved out and then he expanded the use of the cubby hole in the second picture.  "Look at this Gary!"

Apparently Reid was trying to tell me a joke, but we were off to a bad start!  I thought he said "goat" so I asked,  "Reid, did you just say a funny goat?"  Cooper felt the need to intervene - LOUDLY - and proceeded to yell,  "NO! A FUNNY JOKE!!"  Hahaha! Well so far it's hilarious!  Reid said, "Me - I'm a funny guy."  :)

Reid - 2/2/2016

Reid ate three servings of waffles and ate pears for breakfast.  For lunch he ate half of tuna and crackers, ate sweet potatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  At breakfast Reid said, "My Dad's name is TA!"  :)  Cooper said, "No, it's TJ."  Reid said, "Yup."  I tried changing up my daily question, i.e.,,"what'd you guys do last night?" (or weekend), but Cooper sticks by his answer.  "I found my favorite blanket."  (Usually in Mom and Dad's bed.)  I should have tracked how many months he's been saying that! And it's every day!  :)  Later in the morning Reid asked me, "What'd you do this weekend?"  Ha!

In this first picture the doll Sophie is holding actually is Reid's baby "Steven" that he frequently brings from home.  Sophie had it and was telling Reid that she was taking ownership of the baby!  Her explanation consisted of one word!  "Mine, mine mine!"  Ha!  I took this picture when Reid was sweetly explaining the facts to her and she appears to be listening.  Isn't this cute?  Two sweet kids! I like how he's just talking to her and not grabbing his baby.

Reid laid out his blanket and his doll (Steven) and Cooper put his blanket on Steven.  Cooper told me, "I use my blankie for Reid's Baby Steven."  So they were getting Steven all tucked in when I took this picture and then Cooper jumped up and said, "I'm gonna get him some food."  He got some play food and piled it on top of their baby.  Then Cooper built this "house" of blocks all the way around Baby Steven.  They were sending the baby flying down the slide, but they did put some pillows at the bottom so he'd have a soft landing!  :)

Reid - 2/1/2016

Reid had bites of chex cereal and two servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  He had taken his last mouthful of fruit when he asked, "What are we gonna have for lunch!?!"  LOL!  You finish eating breakfast and I'll tell you!  He loves putting on his bib and tightening it by himself.  This morning he said (very proudly), "You taught me to do my bib by myself!"  For lunch he ate three servings of beef sandwich, sips of tomato soup, and licked a pickled beet!

Cooper's hair was sticking up everywhere this morning when he arrived and Reid was pointing at it and said, "Hey! Him look like Bode!"  :)  Cooper was not too appreciative!  He started rubbing on his hair and grumbled, "I want it to go down."  So I sprayed it with some water and we combed it.  :)

I asked Cooper about puking this weekend and he said, "I puked in the puke bucket!"  Reid said, "We have a puke bucket called the throw-up bucket!"  Ha!

The boys did some jumping and also built legos "for my mom."  Reid said, "I built a Star Wars Thing!"  And that's what you're building for your Mom!?  "Yep, And Momma's gonna love it!"  While Reid was working on his legos project he started singing; "And everywhere that Mary went, my fair lady."  SO CUTE!!  I think that may be the first time I've heard him just start singing!  Totally on tune!  He was combining the words of two songs; "Mary had a little Lamb" and "London bridge is falling down."  We also read books; the one Cooper brought from home and a new Dr. Seuss; "The Big Green Book of Beginner Books."  Actually six books in one.
