Reid - 5/24/2017

Reid ate lots of whole wheat toast and lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pork roast, lots of toasted rye bread, no vegetables; carrots, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, and brussel sprouts - and ate lots of fruit salad.

As usual Reidisms keep me laughing - I just think he's so stinking funny!!  :)
He was singing "Farmer in the Dell" and the last line goes, "The cheese stands alone...."  Reid was singing, "Farmer tans alone, farmer tans alone..."  (stands alone)  Poor Farmer - has to tan alone.  See he's funny; even when he doesn't know it!!  :)
He was talking about bees - there have been bees on the patio.  He said, "Are you surprised I got stung by one and I still alive!?!"  No, I guess I wasn't aware of your serious allergic reaction to bees! He said, "Trust me Gary; those things are bad!"  LOL!!  I was dying - not from bees, but laughing! (If he only knew how many times I was stung when I was logging - frequently in the yellow jacket nests and stung 12 - 15 times in one encounter!)
Reid, did you eat any of your vegetables?  He said, "No, I wanted to stay healthy."  (with a silly smirk on his face!)
He was not happy about Sophie and Hudson hiding in the same spot over and over so he was trying to teach them proper hiding etiquette in hide-n-seek.  "You CAN'T hide in aim pot!!" (same spot)
Yesterday at Snack Sophie asked for more dried cranberries and Reid held out his hand in front of her (teasing) and said, "They're Horrible!!"  (As he was devouring a big mound of them!!  Ha!)

These first 3 pictures are Reid "hiding" in the spot he built.  He put the Panda Bear on himself and said, "Now I'm really hiding."  He asked if we could do some art today and I let him pick what he wanted to do.  His choice was Dot Painting.

Reid - 5/23/2017

Reid ate several toasted whole wheat english muffin servings and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch he ate a couple bites of stir fry chicken and vegetables, no brown rice, and ate lots of oranges.

I have a note left over from last Friday when Riley was here all day.  Reid saw her going to the bathroom and said, "That my first time EVER seeing Riley go potty without Kenzie!!  Literally!!  They never go alone!!"  Haha!  That is so true!  Kenzie wasn't here until after school Friday so Riley didn't have much choice!!

I've mentioned recently about Reid being a good helper and here is an example from this morning.  Sophie wanted to switch the steps to the balance beam to the other side which is a slide.  She asked if I'd help her and Reid said, "I got it!"  Thank you Reid.  That was very sweet.  Then when we were going outside he took Avilene's sunhat and said, "I got it."  (again)  Thank you Reid.

I think this picture makes Reid look long!  Haha!  Not a typical 4 year old size!!  Reid said, "Hey Gary!  I got one foot on the igloo!!"

We played outside for awhile this morning.  As the weather warms up the bugs start appearing!  And it always takes some time for the kids to be comfortable with that!  Ha!  And of course the bees buzzing around makes them squeal too.  Reid was showing Hudson a roly poly bug he found.

Reid - 5/19/2017

Reid didn't want brown rice, but ate raisins for breakfast.  And then complained how hungry he was!  For lunch he ate bites of salmon, dinner roll, LOTS of corn, and ate mangoes.  Before lunch Sophie was at the sink getting soap to wash and she said, "I got soap!"  Read said, "You're not surprised!!"  (I'm sure he meant to say, "I'm not surprised!!"  Haha)

Yesterday Reid was talking about how big his Dad is.  Kenzie said, "Well at least he can fit through the door!"  That probably seems pretty important to her!  Another announcement from Reid:  Guess what bar we have!?!"  No idea what the question even means Reid!!  He said, "Protein Bar!!  One have WAY WAY WAY more sugar!!  And it VERY VERY GOOD!!"  Ha!

Reid was showing Lauralea how fast he could run across the room and he asked, "Hey Lauralea!  You wanna hear something about me!?!  I run 100 mile an hour!"  Then he added, "I use none of my energy!"  No idea where that came from or what he really meant!!  Maybe he's just stating how he can move like lightning with minimal effort!  :)  Then he had to stop for a "group hug!"  Look at the adorable expression on Sophie's face!  I LOVE that!  Lauralea and I have always said "it's a special kid that can get enjoyment from watching other's have a good time!"

Speaking of hugs, after Story Time Reid leaned over and gave me the sweetest hug!  I said, "Aww...thank you Reid.  That was so sweet."  I guess he kind of came to his senses because he said, "Uhhh..I try to attack you, not hug you."  Hahaha!!  I roared!  "Whatever Reido!  That was sweet!!"

In this 2nd picture the kids are watching a "battery powered" hamster that Riley brought with her today.  For those that don't know - Riley is here because it's "Kindergarten Roundup" at her school so the present Kindergarten Class gets a day off!  In the last picture Reid and Riley were jumping off the igloo holding hands.  So cute.

Reid - 5/18/2017

Reid ate toasted english muffin and two servings of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch he had a couple bites of chicken with cabbage, bites of whole grain tortilla, and ate baked apples with cinnamon.

Here are a couple of notes from 2 other kid's Blogs of Reid being a "helper" this morning - and both times it was on his own initiative!!  I always love that!
1.)  Hudson likes to climb up the steps to the changing Table for diapering so that has been going very well.  (I'm happy that the experiment with changing him on the floor is over!!  Ha!!)  He still does not like the feeling of "lifting" his legs and for some reason it causes him to "panic."  Reid has been very sensitive to Bubba during that time (lifting the legs) and has worked very hard and tried different methods (on his own initiative) to distract Bubba.  And it's been super helpful!
2.)  Sophie was playing with the dress-up clothes and was wearing 3 or 4 tutus.  She was struggling to get them off and Reid assisted her.  After they got the tutus off Reid admonished her; "Now don't put on more than 1!!"  Haha!

First picture - Reid stacked all the books from the book rack.  He said, "This is pretty much all the books you have to read Gary; 2000 of em!!"  Oh, ok.

What a blast to have our Nora back from her Denver trip today!!  And I'm speaking for all of us at Little Treasures!!  Reid hugged her when she arrived and then had to hug her again after I put her in the highchair.  Also about Baby Nora; Apparently she is solely responsible for Reid's "speediness!!"  I'll let him explain in 4 year old logic: "Gary!  Do you know why I'm so fast?"  No, but I'm anxious to hear this!!  "Because I don't want to step on Baby Nora; that why I'm so fast!"  Ok, now I understand. Speaking of Reid having amazing speed - he was running across the room and diving head-first at the Big Bears.  He said; "Some people came me The Bomb."  Hahaha!

All 5 of the kids were on the mattress while  Sophie and Bubba were practicing synchronized gymnastics!  You can see at the back of the mattress that Reid is pestering Aviilen with a stuffed rabbit and kept dangling it in front of her face.

Reid - 5/17/2017

Reid looked at breakfast and decided he didn't want any french toast or strawberries.  For lunch he ate a lot!!  Two servings of turkey burger on whole wheat bun, no lettuce or tomato, ate avocado, and some of his tropical fruit.

I wasn't sure what he was doing with the yellow bench, but here's a picture of the final set-up!!  He said, "That one way to hit!!"  (SIT!)  We also read some new books that Lauralea got us and Reid had lots of fun finding the hidden numbers on each page!!

Avilene was watching Reid play on the mattress and balance beam and she thought about mimicking him and sliding down head first!  See the 2nd picture with Avi and Reid.  Reid is saying, "Come on head first, head first...."  It apparently just didn't feel safe and she wouldn't do it! Which, in my opinion, shows good sense!!  :)  Good job Avi!

We also did some "golf ball" art.  We used to do this with 1 golf ball and no lid - I now use 4 golf balls and a lid!!  And it goes much faster!!  :)  There were times before using a lid when painted golf balls were rolling across the floor too!!  Reid said, "How about we just throw golf balls at each other?!?  Oh sure, that's an excellent idea.  What a goof!!  I took this last picture when Reid was storing some cookies between his toes!!  Haha

Reid - 5/12/2017

Reid ate oatmeal and baked apples with cinnamon for breakfast.  For lunch he ate half of hamburger stew (with meat, carrots, green beans, potatoes, and brussel sprouts), ate two servings of dinner roll, and two servings of apricots.  Sophie was giggling at breakfast listening to Reid regaling us with his amazing ability to "snarf huge amounts of candy corn in such a short amount of time."  :)

Reid was wanting to move past Hudson and said, "Move in the name of the Law!!"  Haha!  That kind of made me laugh primarily considering Daddy TJ being a Montana Highway Patrol!!  However, Reid, at Little Treasures we use more appropriate language.....and here's an example;  "I need to move past you please."  :)

Reid and Sophie were building this block structure you see in the picture below.  I asked them why they were building it to block traffic from one side of the room to the other side?  Reid said, "To trap them over there!"  Who are them!?!  :)  (Of course I already knew the answer!)  Reid said, "Bubba, Nora, and Avilene!" Well at least it worked on one of them; Avi, but only because she's not here today!!  Haha!

Reid was playing with Nora and in the picture below he was trying to balance a spoon on her head. He said, "I can't wait until Nora stands up!!"  Why?  "Then I hug her all day long!!"  Haha!  (Gotta wait till she walks to do that?!?!)  Reid soon yelled, "Gary!!  Nora poopy!!"  Are you sure Reid?  She usually cries when she's pooping!  He said, "Totally sure!! I niffed her!!"  Haha!!  Well your niffer is working good because you're right Reid!!

Reid was "hiding" under this blanket on the mattress and Nora could hear his voice, but couldn't see him.  She was grinning, giggling, and squealing and it was pretty stinking cute.  You can see in the last picture that she crawled all the way around the mattress and got up by his head.  Reid said, "Nora! "I'll give you a hint!  I'm right by the kitchen table!!"  Haha!  He totally cracks me up!  What a goofy fun-loving boy!!

Reid - 5/11/2017

Reid ate toasted rye bread and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch he ate pulled pork sandwich, half of peas, and LOTS of cantaloupe.  He said, "I'm gonna ask Mom if I can eat a cantaloupe for Dinner!?!"  Haha!  Maybe that was because I was eating a cantaloupe (cut in half - ate both halves) while they were eating their cut-up cantaloupe bites.  :)

A couple of funny Reid remarks from this morning:
"Hey Gary!  Every since I was born I land on my feet!!"  Haha!  You've been very fortunate Reid!
"Hey Gary!  Don't I look like Tate?  A smaller version of Tate?"  Yes, but you look more like Reid!

Well it was nice to have our resident entertainer perform for the kids today.  Reid asked me yesterday if he could bring his "kendama" to Daycare today.  What?!?!  After 10 attempts to understand what the heck he was talking about I had to refer to Google for the answer!!  I took the picture below as he dazzled an appreciative crowd!!  :)  Then I took the 2nd picture as he experimented with other ways to use his toy.  He said, "Gary, that ball follows everywhere the other part goes!"  Yes it does!!

Speaking of "kendama" I was looking at some of those toys online and Reid saw one that was completely "blue." The ball and handle, every part was blue.  And it was painted to look like it was full of cracks!  "I really like that one!!"  Then he added, "Can you send that to our mailbox!?!"  LOL!  Cracked me up and I was laughing.  He wasn't amused! "No, really!!"

Reid was spinning Avi and Hudson in the chair.  I took this picture just before they started and it looks like a serious discussion.  Maybe Reid was giving a Pep Talk about what to expect during take-off and landing!!

Reid - 5/10/2017

Reid ate lots of whole wheat toast and lots of mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch he ate whole wheat spaghetti noodles topped with hamburger and spaghetti sauce, no squash, and lots of fruit salad.  (with bananas, grapes, apple, mangoes, strawberries, oranges)

Some funny Reidism's from this morning:
I started singing, "Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam.."  Reid said, "Oh give me a home where Mickey Mouse Roam."
Missy 'appeared' in the kitchen this morning and Reid said, "Missy always the sneaky one!"
I told Sophie to make sure she didn't get her little dress in the toilet when she was going potty.  Reid said, "One time I got my foot in the water...literally!"  (literally, that's a good word Reid - now keep your stinking feet out of the toilet!  Haha!)

Yesterday at Snack Time I was being silly with Avi because of how she answers "yes" to everything! So I kept quizzing her:  "Are you done?"  "Yes."  "Do you want more food?"  "Yes."  "Are you done?"  "Yes."  ........  And more questions!!  Finally Reid said; "That was a confusing moment!."  LOL!!  That kid totally cracks me up!

I took this first picture yesterday afternoon after nap time and Reid was crawling around on the floor beside Nora.  She was loving it!!  Reid has been such a sweetie to Nora and he really does like her.  This morning he was basically doing the same thing and then he hugged her and said, "I love you." Very very precious.

For the 2nd picture Reid said, "Hey Gary! I'm gonna test my trap out!"  Ok, I guess if you're gonna build a trap someone has to test it out!!  He said, "Can you keep it for 3 days?!?"  No, but you can! You can stay here day and night and guard it so no one destroys it!  He said, "Well I have to go home because I have hocker practice tonight!"  And the last picture:  Reid and Sophie were so cute playing together this morning!  I realize I haven't posted a picture of these two hanging out together for a long time!!  Sophie is usually too busy playing with Bubba and bossing him around and Reid has been busy doing his own thing!  They were just sitting here talking and then they started shaking hands when I took this picture!  No idea what kind of pact they were making!  Ha!

Reid - 5/5/2017

Reid ate bites of malt-o-meal cereal and ate lot of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch he ate bites of "beef kabob" meat, no brown rice, no vegetables (zucchini, peppers, mushrooms),  and ate pineapple.
Reid made the coolest observation at the breakfast table!  He said, "Is this like a house slash daycare?"  Isn't that cool?  I loved it!  I said, "That's exactly what it is Reid!"  He said (pointing), "That part house, that part daycare."

Reid was doing lots of "face plants" and kept saying, "Show that one to my Mom, Gary!"  Ok, I better get the camera!"

Reid has been engaging with the little kids a lot more the past 2 or 3 weeks!  And they've been loving it!  He was "hiding" under the brown bear and the panda bear and saying, "Gary, guess where I'm at? Can you see me?!?"  That was an open invitation to the little ones when they heard him!  (You can see him - actually just his elbow - between the Panda Bear and the Big Bear.)  Then in the 4th picture Reid was pushing Hudson and Avi in the chair as fast as it would go.  And I think they were enjoying the ride!  (One time Cooper was having so much fun doing this exact same thing - and then he got dizzy, turned white, and puked!

In the last picture - we usually get out the tunnels to crawl in on a rainy or snowy day!  But Reid asked for them and chose doing this instead of going outside this morning and that was fine.  We'll play outside this afternoon!  Sophie isn't here, but the other 3 kids crawled through the tunnel and Nora watched.

Reid - 5/4/2017

Reid ate LOTS of waffles and ate fruit salad for breakfast.  (After eating all his oatmeal from home.)  For lunch he wouldn't try the shepard's pie with hamburger, mashed potatoes, green beans, and carrots.  I told him it was delicious and he said, "Well it would be good to have a HUGE hamburger!" Haha!  Whatever Reid!  He ate toasted rye bread and two large servings of cherries.

I'm forever calling the kids the wrong names!  When talking to Avi I'll frequently start with Sophie, then Nora, and make it to Avi.  And of course I almost always call Reid "Tate!"  Then when Tate was cleaning this past weekend I called him "Reid!"  Yesterday Reid said, "Why do you keep calling people names!?!"  LOL!!  Well Reido, you should have been here back when we regularly had 10 - 12 kids!!  Haha!!  Lauralea and I constantly spewed out a long list before we hit the right name!!

I took these first 2 pictures this morning when Reid wanted to get out the Big Bears.  Primarily so I can throw them at him when He's standing on the igloo!  Speaking of the igloo Reid was up there and trying to get my attention about watching him lean against the wall then jump off!  He said, "Gary!! I don't have much time!!  Look at Me!!"  LOL!  Oh man that hit my funny bone!!

Reid has been very sweet and helping Bubba this week.  Primarily with getting his diaper changed on the changing table.  Yesterday Hudson was sad about something and Reid was comforting him in the chair.  Reid said, "I had a great idea to make Bubba quit crying!  I ask him if he want to get in my chair and he did!"  Thank you Reid!  Just before I took this picture of Reid, Hudson, and Nora playing on the mattress Reid was trying to get Bubba to stand on the blue balance beam.  Hudson wanted no part of that and Reid asked, "Bubba, are you afraid of heights?"  Then Reid proceeded to give him a "Pep Talk" which I couldn't decipher, except the part about "the highest mountain in the world!"  Haha!  (You know, being a world traveler and all!)

Reid - 5/3/2017

Reid ate bites of french toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate bites of salmon patty, ate whole wheat dinner roll, no squash, and ate tropical fruit.

These first 3 pictures are from yesterday afternoon.  Reid was being so sweet to Bubba and just before I took this picture of Hudson snuggling with him Reid had helped talk to Bubba and calm him while I changed Hudson on the changing table.  It seriously was super helpful.  Hudson has some issues with that changing table and Reid (on his own initiative) wanted to make it better for him!  I took the 2nd and 3rd pictures when Bode came with his Dad to pick up Reid.  Hudson seriously adores Bode and was so excited to see him!  (On one of our posters Bubba always points to a little boy and calls him "Bode.")  It was very very cute.  He started doing "Butt Bombs!"  Dang!!  On the hard floor!  That couldn't have felt very good!!  Of course Bode was laughing hard and that totally encourage Hudson to continue!!

Reid told me the silliest story about when he got his silver tooth.  He said, "When I went to the dentist and got my silver tooth it was actually pretty handy!"  Of course I had to ask, "Why?"  Haha! Reid said, "Cause I could bite through metal!"  LOL!  Wow!  That is handy!  (Uhh..I think.)

We read books, sang songs, and did some golf ball art.  Reid was playing with Baby Nora several times this morning.  When I took this last picture he was saying, "Gary, Nora hitting me, Gary, Nora hitting me!"  Uh...right Reid!  :)
