Reid ate bites of breakfast: kix cereal and raisins. For lunch he ate ground beef, LOTS of whole wheat elbow noodles, half of mixed fruit, and ate a large serving of applesauce.
Frequently, including this morning, Jamie will swing by the window so Cooper can wave at Reid after she drops the girls off at school. She always calls on the phone to let us know they're coming and then Reid and Cooper can also say "hi" to each other.
This is a bit crude, but I'll post it anyhow!! Ha! Reid was in the bathroom and I heard him flush the toilet so I went to wipe him. I asked, "Did you get some poop out?" He said, "Actually a whole load!" (Actually I was in agreement!) Hahaha!! That boy makes me laugh!
On of Reid's favorite activities is bringing out the Big Bears and having me "throw" them at him! It's the same routine every time; "Gary, can I get big bears out?" Yes. ..... "Ok, I got them; will you throw them at me?" Ha! He stands on the blue balance beam and I toss them from the dining room gate and he falls backward onto the mattress. Shortly after that he said, "Hey Gary, come and find me?" So I took the camera and got a picture where he was hiding. He's behind the Panda Bear in the toy shelf and you can see his feet sticking out on the left side of the picture.
It was just Reid, Avi, and Nora again so we did some play dough this morning to keep Reid busy. I put Avilene in her highchair so she could watch what Reid was doing. And she really watched for several minutes and then I put her at the table. She played with it for over 5 minutes, which I thought was great for how young and busy she is! Reid put a couple of "accessories" (cookie cutters, pizza cutters, rollers, plastic spoon, knife, and fork, etc..) at her spot for her. He said, "I'm teaching her how to do play dough!" Then he cut through the dough with his plastic knife. He said, "Don't ever do it like me!" Hahaha!! After a few minutes I said, "You're doing good Reid." He answered, "Gooder than her!!" LOL ! Yes Reid, let's compare your work to a Baby 14 plus months old!!

Reid - 1/26/2017
Reid ate raisin english muffin and LOTS of blueberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate some chicken, ate crackers, bite of sweet potatoes, and ate LOTS of canned cherries.
Reid and I were looking at some animals pictures and he said, "I thought that hunk (skunk) holding an acorn was a mouse." LOL! Well actually that's a chipmunk! But it also has a stripe down it's back so I guess you could confuse it with a skunk. Then he asked about a bird. I told him that's a grouse and they are kind of yummy to eat. "How'd you get one?" Well I shot one. He asked, "Can you shoot one for us!?" Ha!!
He was sitting in the chair and being a couch potato. He said, "I'm gonna sit here all day!" Ha! Actually he kind of tried to, but I kept prodding him to do things, although he wasn't interested in doing some art work. (I have a different plan for that!) The only other kids here today are the two babies; Avilene and Nora. So I got out a little tablet that Lauralea got me for Christmas just for times like this!! :) She loaded some toddler and preschool games on it. One of them is a puzzle game and he said, "This one is on Mom's tablet." And it was quickly obvious that he knew how that game worked!! He was zooming those puzzles pieces into position!
There are some good learning opportunities on these games. He was doing a word and alphabet game and said, "Hey Gary! G is for giraffes too!" He knows "G" is for Gary and that was a nice association he made. Good thinking Reid!!

Reid - 1/20/2017
Reid ate oatmeal and three servings of dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch he ate ground beef, lots of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and lots of applesauce. Sophie was trying to tell me something at Lunch and it sounded foreign. Ha! Is that a movie Sophie? "Yes." Sorry, I know nothing about your movies. Reid came to her rescue; "Well you should know something about our movies!!" Why? "Come to our house and you'll see!!" Ha!!
Right after Lunch today Reid spotted a little spider on the ceiling and pointed it out to Sophie and she showed it to Hudson. Oh man, they were wanting to "get" it! Sophie said, "Bubba, Look at that stinking spider!" (You're welcome. Ha!) Then they had the little drills and were pointing them at the ceiling and Hudson was saying, "Shoot shoot, shoot shoot." :) So after I finished feeding Baby Nora I got the ladder and got the stinking spider! Ok everyone, you can all relax!! :) Reid kept telling me all he needed was some kind of a gun! Ha!
These first two pictures are just kind of silly, but hey, that's our specialty!! Just wanted to show you some more various places where Reid chooses to lounge and a couple of variations on his lounging accessories!! Notice he is waving his hand in the 2nd picture!
There is a cute story behind the last picture! Sophie was wanting Hudson to help her get the Big Bear back over the balance beam and onto the mattress! She was saying, "1 2 3 4 5 6...help me Bubba!" and they were supposed to throw it onto the mattress! Ha! Reid was observing all of this and said, "You need me to help you!" (love that!) So he did. Sophie asked Reid, "Can you help us make a bunkbed Reido?" Ha! He went right over and stacked the 2 bears on top of each other. And apparently that was exactly what she wanted!! Sophie said, "Ok Bubba, I sleep on top, you sleep on bottom." Hudson didn't really want any part of this activity and took off running! Ha! Sophie yells, "Get back here Bubba; it your nap time!!" Haha!

Reid - 1/19/2017
Reid ate raisin english muffin and a couple pounds of blueberries for breakfast. Haha!! No, it really was probably close to that! For lunch he ate turkey and ham, bite of flat bread, 10 green beans (yes I counted), and ate his strawberries. I told Reid; "There is something about you that makes me laugh!" And he finished it with this; "Like a wild hyeenee!" He's heard me say that a zillion times; "Laughing like a wild hyena!!" Ha! See what I mean; you make me laugh Reid!
He did some drawing/coloring with markers at Art Time. He said he was making a treasure map and it was a "hard one." What makes it a hard one? "It in a volcano!" Ok, I agree, that will be a hard treasure to find. I told him I was an expert in Treasures and that's why I named my Daycare; "Little Treasures!" He looked at me like; "Whatever." :) Then he was watching me open an envelope with my letter opener and he asked, "What kind of hord (sword) is that!?!" Haha!! A small one. :)
I told Reid that Sophie went to "music class" today and would not be coming to Daycare. He said, "Yeah!!" Haha! Why do you say, "Yeah!?" "Because she not going to boss me around anymore!" Haha! Then he went on to say, "I gonna tell her - when you come - if you in charge, you have to change diapers!" (That's what I told Reid earlier and he passed it along.) Ha!
Here are a couple pictures from this morning: Reid let me know this "Air Ship" is NOT an airplane! Well thank you Reid for letting Avi try to turn the propellors on the Air Ship! With Hudson looking on and learning about the Air Ship. And in the last picture Reid has a rough life - laying back keeping an eye on the Air Ship! There I managed to say Air Ship 5 times in one paragraph!! :) Thought I'd include a picture of Reid lounging somewhere besides the chair! See....he doesn't spend all day in the chair!!

Reid - 1/18/2017
Reid ate jelly toast and a can of mangoes for breakfast. It was a good thing he ate lots at breakfast because the Lunch is not his favorite! Bean, rice, and chicken burrito, sweet potatoes, tropical fruit. He did have a bite of burrito and didn't moan too loudly!! Ha! He wrapped his arm around his face in a silly fashion and I asked him where he learned that. Who does that? He said, "Most all of our family." Ha!!
Sophie was singing/saying, "Humpty Dumpty fell ON the wall." Reid said, "ON the wall!!??!!" Sophie said, "Fell ON the wall and broke his arm." Reid said, "Broke his skull!" ("gull" Later, Reid said, "Your gull is empty!" What!?!.....ohhhh....skull!! Ha!) Sophie said, "I broke my arm last night!" Reid, "Nooooo!" Ha! Silly kids! Later Reid was trying to get away from Sophie and was perched on top of the igloo. He said, "She afraid of heights!" Ha!
Reid had fun doing some stickers at Art Time and then wanted to draw on his paper as well. He made some "roads" all around the stickers. It was actually pretty cool and he said, "It kind of like a race car road!" Yup it is!
The story behind this picture cracks me up!! Sophie was talking on the old flip phone and Reid was trying to tell her it wasn't a "real" phone!! ("Not a leal phone!! That a play phone!") So he asked me if he could use my "leal phone" to illustrate the difference! hahahaha!! He primarily was focused on the size; "This what a leal phone look like!! Now you know what a leal phone is!!" Now it was Sophie's turn to dutifully sit and listen! She was very attentive and said, "oh." Ha!

Reid - 1/17/2017
Reid ate LOTS of cinnamon roll for breakfast and a bite of canned prunes. He looked at the cinnamon rolls and said, "I can eat all of those in 30 days!" Well I have news for you Reid; You just ate all of them so I think you might be hungry for the next 29 days!! I told him before Lunch: "Reid you need to wash your hands." He responded with, "Are you kidding me!!??!!" Ha! No. :) Also at the meal table Reid just randomly said, "Knock knock on the door." Who's door? "Your door....5, 6 pick up sticks." Ha! Good job Reid!
This isn't about Reid, but I thought you might like it anyhow: I frequently move the Baby Saucer into the lunch room if a Baby is awake so they can hang out with us at meal time. (Nora still uses it occasionally, but she has just about grown out of it too.) So at breakfast the saucer was sitting there, Sophie looked at it and said, "Avi live in here." Yes, Avi spent some time in there, but I think it's a stretch to say she lived in there!!! Haha!!
Reid was bouncing on Lauralea's knees again and he wanted her to sing; "Boston." So she sang, "Oh here we go to Boston, to Boston....." After Lauralea left I asked, "Reid, have you ever been to Boston?" He said, "No, but I could throw you to Boston!" Haha! Ok. Then he added, "But not Lauralea." Why not Lauralea? "She too heavy!" Haha!! Hmmm.....You might not live long enough to ever make it to Boston with those wisecracks!! :)
I asked Sophie; "Can Hudson have lunch with you?" She said, "No." Why not? "Because it dinner." Of course. What was I thinking? "Ok, can Hudson have dinner with you?" She said, "No." Hmmm...Right then Reid asked Sophie, "Can I have some?" She said, "Yes." Ok, now I see. She then scooted over closer to Reid. It was so cute. :) She loves her Reid! I took this picture when Reid was telling her she needed to eat too.

Reid - 1/13/2017
Reid didn't want any brown rice, but ate raisins for breakfast. For lunch he ate meat balls, flat bread, no carrots, and ate apricots. Yesterday afternoon for snack we had cereal and I had two or three choices for the kids. Reid said, "I wish cereal already had milk in it." Why? "You wouldn't have to do the hard work...of pouring it in!" LOL! Yes, that is certainly difficult and stressful getting that milk into every bowl! :)
I asked Reid today if he knew it was the 13th of January! "Yup! We also have a calendar!" Haha! How silly of me! I have another "silly" that he said, but it will taking some explanation! You know Reid is frequently "sucking" on his tongue? (or whatever he is doing!!) I'll ask him; "What are you sucking on!?!" He always gets a silly grin, stops sucking, and says; "Nothing!!" Ha! Well this morning he was doing it again and Lauralea saw it AND he saw her looking at him. She didn't say anything, BUT Reid said, "What are you hucking on!?!" LOL Cracked me up!!
Here are 3 pictures from this morning: In the first picture he has found a comfortable way to play with his Star Wars guys! Upside down! :) Next he has found another interesting position in which to work on some puzzles. :) And the last picture was so cute! I was in the kitchen putting food on the tray for Lunch and Reid came to the kitchen and said, "Hey Gary! Come look at Baby Nora." I loved how he was wrapping her in his blanket! So sweet.
Then we were reading books - one of which was "Somewhere in the Ocean." It's kind of a counting book, but one page had 2 baby Orca Whales plus the Momma. Reid said, "It actually equals 3." On the next page there was a Mommy Clown Fish and 3 Babies. Reid said, "It actually equals 4." Nice job of counting and adding them Reid!! That's kind of what we were talking about yesterday Lesley. The numbers, colors, letters, etc. all come from the integrated learning that takes place. Very cool.

Reid - 1/12/2017
Reid ate three servings of cinnamon toast and most of apple slices for breakfast. For lunch he ate baked chicken, bites of dinner roll, no hash browns, and ate two servings of cherries. For his 2nd and 3rd serving of cinnamon toast it was a whole piece of bread I put on his plate. He looked at it and said, "That'll keep me on track of eating it!!" Ha!! Then he went on to expound on the "world's largest pancake!" Funny guy!!
He was telling me a story and I was missing the entire thing!! Finally I said, "I don't know what you're talking about." He said, "You don't know what you're talking about!" LOL! Hmmm....this didn't really end the way it should have!!
Bode carried these big bears over to where Baby Nora was sitting and plopped them down in front of her. Her reaction was sooooo cute!! She totally loved it. In the first picture she was leaning forward to make contact with the bear. Then Reid went and sat by her. Nora was squealing with excitement the entire time.
I took this picture at Art Time this morning. Golf Ball Art is a bit slow, but Sophie was patiently waiting for her turn. (I had chicken baking in the other pan that I use for art!! So it was one pan at a time during Art this morning!) Hudson and Avilene were watching and it won't be long until they will know what to do. Hudson didn't want to touch the pan today and this is a good way to get him familiar with what we're doing. The little ones watched for at least 10 minutes before they got bored. Reid looked at the highchairs at each end of the table and said, "It like a battle between them guys!" Ha! Geez Reid! Is everything a battle!?! :)

Reid - 1/11/2017
Reid had bites of whole wheat bagel and ate two servings of peaches for breakfast. For lunch he ate ham, LOTS of elbow noodles, ate corn, and applesause. By 10:15 he was saying, "I'm starving!!! (He knew we were having elbow noodles for lunch and he was ready!) He asked, "Can we eat lunch late!? LOL! I think you probably mean early. Do you wanna eat early or late? He said, "Early!"
I told Reid, "Today is my Dad's birthday." Before I even finished the sentence Reid said, "We're not going!!" LOL! Oh man I roared!
Hudson always asks Lauralea to "read read read" every morning so if she has time she's been reading books to him. Reid joined them this morning for their Story Time.
It was so cute watching Reid play with Baby Avi when she was in the tunnel this morning. She wouldn't get in there when everyone was crawling through. She waited and soon Sophie and Hudson were bored and playing elsewhere. Reid was moving along the outside of the tunnel and saying silly things to her.

Reid - 1/10/2017
Reid ate three servings of waffle and ate pears for breakfast. For lunch he ate bites of tuna & crackers, bites of sweet potatoes, and two servings of mandarin oranges.
Reid was playing with the food toys in this toy exchange. (We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this past weekend.) Reid was putting some sandwiches together and accidentally started rocking the chair. I said, "Whoa! You almost tipped the chair over!!" Reid said, "Yes, but my sandwiches are fine!!" (The boy has his priorities in order!)
Sophie took a pile of books to Reid for him to read to her. He looked at all of her books and said, "I don't want to read ALL of these! I just want to read a few." So he read a few books to Sophie and Hudson and said, "That was hard work!!" Ha! Yes Reid, I'll bet you're just exhausted!!
After Lunch time and before Nap Time Sophie was saying, "Knock knock!" Reid said, "Who's there?" Sophie said, "No! I play it!!" Ha!! But then she did let Reid join the game and they were saying the most random things! It was very funny!!

Reid - 1/6/2017
Reid ate oatmeal and bite of canned prunes for breakfast. For lunch he ate hash brown casserole, bites of biscuit, and LOTS of mandarin oranges.
I took a potty break and told Reid, "You're in charge!" So I got back and asked him how everything was going? Reid points at Baby Nora and said, "You need to put that one in bed." Haha!! She wasn't fussing or anything, but I guess he thought better now than later!!
Reid was talking about the Star Wars toy he brought - I've no idea what it's called! When I try to say what Reid says - well that's just not working! Ha! Today he finally said (AGAIN), "Could we not talk about it!!" Anyhow, he did tell me how excited he was at Christmas. He said, "I saw this at Walmart long time ago...At Christmas I opened present....OHHHH SCORE!!! There it was!! If you bought this it would cost 90 Dollars!!" Nice story Reid. And by the way I think I'll pass!
Sophie was looking at the picture of the Baby Cheetah again and Reid was once again saying he could run faster than the cheetah! Earlier he'd said he could run "100 mph!" The 2nd time he admitted he could only go that fast under certain conditions! Primary qualification; "if I eat 30 pounds of pizza!!" LOL!
Ok, I can't help myself! I have to post another picture of Sophie with a monster case of static electricity! This delighted me almost as much as it did Reid!! Ha! Reid's mouth fell open and he said, "OH WOW!!" Then he yelled at me; "Look Gary!! It flying again!!" Then Reid said to Sophie, "Look behind your head!!" Haha! And she certainly tried - whipping her head back-n-forth trying to look behind her head!! Here's a piece of what I posted on Hudson's Blog so you'll know it's not just affecting Sophie!! There is a lot more static electricity during these winter months (you can google that - ha!) and it's super prevalent on the couch in the daycare room. Bubba got up on the couch and touched my arm and we got zapped pretty significantly. He looked surprised and then looked very accusingly at me! Haha!
Assisting Avilene with the shape sorter. Reid told me; "I help her a little bit." Thank you Reid.

Reid - 1/5/2017
For breakfast Reid ate a bite of flatbread and ate as many blueberries has I had thawed out! Ha! About 11:00 I said I was going to heat up Baby Nora's bottle and Reid said, "And our food! I'm starving!!" For lunch he ate several slices of turkey, bite of dinner roll, ate 5 green beans, and ate his strawberries. He saw I'd gave him 5 green beans and I asked if he thought he could handle it! :) He said he could if I'd take away 1 of them. LOL!! I roared! Well that's not an unreasonable request Reid, but I think you'll manage just fine. And he did. But he continued; "Then can I have some halt (salt) on them?" Sure. "That the only way I can eat em!" Nicely played Reid.
Speaking of food, Tuesday afternoon Reid, Sophie, and I were having a discussion about their favorite foods and snacks. What's your favorite food Reid? I'm totally expecting elbow noodles to be fairly close to the top of the list!! He said, "I don't really like food; I like hoda!!" (Soda) Hahahaha!! So what's your favorite snack? "Granola bar - chocolate on one side and peanut butter on the other side." I loved Sophie's snack answer; "gum."
After Momma Lesley dropped off Reid this morning he was sitting in the chair and said, "I freeze my butt off back there." Back where? "Everywhere!" LOL! Yup, it's pretty chilly this morning alright!
This morning Reid said, "Avilene is one of the funniest kids I know!" Yup, she's hilarious alright! Why do you say that Reid? He answered; "Remember when she had a HUGE poop!?!" I remember lots of them, but I guess I didn't realize it provided you with so much comic relief! :)
Reid was lounging in "his chair" this morning! This is his favorite spot at LTCC! It's obviously comfortable for him and it has the added benefit of having a mirror directly in front of it!! He was being silly looking cross-eyed and said, "I do this at home!" I took this last picture while I was cleaning up after lunch, shortly before nap time, and Hudson was laughing hard at whatever Reid was doing. I peeked around the corner, but I could never spot anything too hilarious! But it had something to do with whatever Reid was showing him on the Star Wars toy!

Reid - 1/3/2017
Reid ate whole wheat bagel, no apricots for breakfast. For lunch he ate chicken, ton of whole wheat elbow noodles, couple bites of peas, and three servings of applesauce.
I have a new calendar with pictures of baby animals. For January the picture is a baby cheetah. So I was talking about cheetahs and how fast they can run. Reid said, "I can run faster than they can!" Oh really? They can go 70 mph. Reid said, "I can run 100 mph." Well that is definitely faster. So at lunch time when he was snarfing down a bushel of noodles he said, "I eat it like a cheetah!!" LOL!
We sang songs, read books, did some sign language, and then Reid asked if we could do some shapes. Wow, it's been a long time since we did shapes, but he said he could do them all! Ha!! Cooper was the one who loved doing shapes, but Reid did so well at it!! I'm impressed! I hold up the shape (that we made) and they tell me what the shape is. He got 9 out of 12 correct! He got all but the 3 hardest ones! He even got "trapezoid" correct! I complimented him and he said, "Cooper let me know every single day!" So he was giving Cooper some credit! Really well done Reid!
Frequently in the mornings if Lauralea has time she interacts with the kids; usually fixes Sophie's hair, sings with them, and does these special songs like "Here we go to Boston, to Boston, to Boston.." while bouncing one of the kids on her knees. Well I don't remember Reid ever asking to bounce on her knee, but he did this morning. It was funny and CUTE! He looked SO big sitting there!
I recently posted a picture of Sophie on her Blog when the static electricity was making her hair go in all directions. It happens frequently and always makes me laugh! It happens every time she scoots her head around on the couch. Reid saw this and he was just staring at her! LOL! Finally Reid said, "Oh WOW!! It is flying!!"
