Reid & Bode - 12/22/2015

Reid ate three servings of waffles and ate hash browns for breakfast.  For lunch he ate chicken and bites of flat bread, most of carrots, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  The menu today was chicken and cheese quesadilla so Reid and Bode ate their's separate without the cheese.

Here's a post from today about Kenzie, but I thought you'd all get a kick out of it too!  I was telling her about "Mexican jumping beans."  Her eyes got big and I waited for the story.  :)  "My friend has a BIG jar FULL of Mexican jumping beans.  You open the lid and they jump right out!!  AND she also has Mexican talking beans!!"  LOL I think Kenzie ate a few of those Mexican Talking Beans!!

This picture shows a long "train" that they all worked on together.  The only real conflict that occurred was when it was time to "drive" the train.  Kenzie and Bode were arguing about who had the "system" controls.  :)  Cooper wanted to change some blocks in Kenzie's area and she looked at him with exasperation and asked, "Why does everything have to be on GREEN!?!"  Cooper said, "I don't know!"  Ha!

We did some more stamps today and everyone had a great time.  Notice Cooper at the bottom left - he's using his forehead to push the stamp onto the paper.  Ha!  A few minutes later I noticed that Reid was using the same technique.

I took this first picture at the breakfast table.  Bode told me this is his idea of a photo bomb.  :)  After breakfast Reid said, "Riley, Cooper, Kenzie; They're my best friends."  Sweet.

Reid - 12/18/2015

Reid ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ground beef, three servings of whole wheat elbow noodles, ate peas, and applesauce.  I was singing Reid's name at breakfast and Cooper said, "Reid has a little (short) name."  How many letters?  And without a moment of hesitation he said, "Four."  Nice job Coop!

Reid built this tall tower using just the little blocks and it actually was standing alone before he put on the last two or three blocks.  I then asked him to hold it steady so it didn't fall on Sophie.  Reid said, "This is my tower!  This tower hakes!!"  (shakes)  He was shaking it a little bit.  :)

Reid LOVES this book in this toy exchange; "Blue Hat, Green Hat."  The first time we read it last week he was laughing so hard he was shaking.  Cooper brought it to him today and said, "Let's read the silly book." The book is based on color and they really can read it.  They probably read it between 5 and 10 times and were laughing on every page.  Cooper said, "This book is so weird!"  Finally Reid said, "Too much hilliness!!"  (silliness)  And he tosses the book aside!  :)

These two boys were being typical boys this morning and had a major discussion about "fast" and "strong!"  I was catching bits and pieces of their conversation and I heard Cooper say, "Your Dad is fast; My Dad is faster!"  (See!  That proves he's been listening to you Casey!!)  Then I heard Cooper say, "When I get big I can lift you guys up!!"  I asked, "Like who?"  Cooper said, "Like Sophie and Gary!"  Ok, I thought you meant the Templeton Guys!  :)

Reid - 12/14/2015

Reid ate bites of kix cereal and ate mixed fruit for breakfast.  For Lunch he ate ham sandwich, peas, and three servings of mandarin oranges.  When I asked them what they did this weekend Cooper said, "I don't know - I found my blanket."  That's become the standard answer.  How about you Reid, "I don't know - I found my blanket."  :)  They are a bundle of information!!

Cooper is the one who basically built this sidewalk.  He said, "I'm building a sidewalk.  Hey, it's an L!"  (I helped him get the bottom of the "L" started.)  Reid laid on the mattress watching the entire process, then got up to play when Cooper was done!  Ha!

I was playing on the mattress with the boys for a few minutes.  I looked up when Reid said, "Hey Gary!" as he went flying over me.  Ok, I think it's time to read some books!  :)  After Story Time I asked the boys if they wanted to do some Finger Painting.  Cooper said, "How do you finger paint?"  With your fingers.  "Uhhh, I don't want to get my hands messy."  Ok, I do have some paint brushes. Reid, on the other hand, loves doing finger painting and getting his hands messy is just fine with him.

I think it's so cute how Sophie will hold the boy's blankets when they're out of the room and the moment they step into the Daycare room she'll hand them their blankets.  Today she did it when they went potty, and when they were finishing painting at Art Time.  When Reid went back into the room she held out his blanket and said, "Hee-ah, hee-ah."  (here)

Reid - 12/8/2015

Reid ate two servings of breakfast: waffles and pears.  For lunch he ate half of tuna and crackers, ate sweet potatoes, three servings of mandarin oranges, and the rest of the pears from breakfast.  At breakfast Reid was talking about "Batman and CatWoman. "  Cooper said, "Ry Ry (Riley) has CatWoman costume when it was halloween at Dad's work."  Reid responded; "My Dad has NO birthday parties at his work!!"  :)

Check out this first picture...Do you think the boys were a little excited and interested!?!  There were at least 2 front-end loaders and 3 dump trucks working at picking up leaves.  In the picture you can see the bucket emptying his load of leaves.  That was a fun way to start the day!!

I think this is a cool picture of Reid just laying back reading a book.  (It's the "Humpty Dumpty" book.)  He was still laying there reading when Sophie walked over to show him the "Big Bad Wolf" mask she was wearing.  (And she'll leave the masks on for a long time.)  When Reid saw Sophie wearing the mask he said, "You ARE the big bad woof Hophie!!"

We were reading books at Story Time and this one book had a picture of a balloon on a string.  It looked like a helium balloon and the string was hanging down to the floor.  I asked them what that was and I loved Reid's answer!  "Punching Bag!"  I would call that the perfect "Boy" answer!  Then we were reading "Blue Hat, Green Hat."  It's a silly little book and Reid loved it.  It was soooo much fun to read it this morning!  He was laughing so hard he was shaking.  :)

Reid - 12/7/2015

Reid ate half of chex cereal and three servings of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch he ate three servings of beef sandwich, no tomato soup, and two servings of lettuce salad.  Our meal time conversation - What did you guys do last night?  Reid said, "I just sleep a lot last night.  (Ha!)  And my blanket was on my Dad's head.  That was weird!"  Ha!  (He's starting to use that word "weird" a lot too just like Cooper has been doing!!)  Cooper said, "I found my favorite blanket; under the covers in Mom and Dad's bed!"

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and that pretty much occupied the boys all morning.  Although they did find time to bicker about whatever!!  They were trying pretty hard to boss each other around.  Cooper said, "You listen when I talk to you!"  I agree Coop, but it works both ways!  Hmmm.    :)

Here's a picture of Reid playing with a legos truck and trailer.  The boys played with these trucks for a long time!  I look at this picture and I think it makes Reid look older!  :)

Reid was playing with a toy on the couch and Sophie was playing in front of the couch.  She looked up and saw how close his head was to her head - hmmm, thats convenient - so she leaned forward and laid her head on his.  It was so cute and sweet.

Reid - 12/4/2015

Reid ate a large serving of oatmeal - no canned prunes - for breakfast.  For lunch he ate hash brown casserole, biscuit, and two servings of mandarin oranges.  He was goofing off at the sink while washing and I told him I was going to stick his head under the faucet.  :)  He said, "That would be NOT cool."  Ha!

Reid was asking for Art Time this morning.  He has been very interested in doing the various Art things we do - especially the painting and the stickers.  Cooper was more interested in putting the bottles in a row (see picture) and said, "That's a line."  My favorite was when Cooper looked at the labels on the bottles and knew that was the color.  (Which I labeled for a colorblind person.)  He was spelling each one.  He looked at the yellow bottle and said, "Yellow is WOLLEY."  He was spelling each color and doing them from right to left.  :)

I have to Blog this from two or three days ago.  Reid was the only one awake and I had called my 86 year old Mom to check in.  We were talking about the current hunting season and all the deer in the city limits around western Montana.  Here's a bit of background for this story to make any sense!  Montana State Fish Wildlife & Parks was once called Montana Fish & Game.  So lots of us "old timers" still simply call it "Fish & Game."  Reid was obviously listening to our conversation (I had her on speaker phone) because he said, "We have fish game!"  Ha ha ha!  Oh really; how do you play it?  Reid said, "Turn it on and pull 'em out!"  So cute.

The boys were doing "face-plants" off the beam onto the mattress.  They also played with the cars on the ramps, used the sit-n-spins as "shields," and Cooper totally emptied the legos drawer after saying, "Reid told me to clean it out."  Several minutes later he said, "I'm cleaning it out Reid!"  I had the highchair in the big room feeding Baby Hudson while they were playing and the Baby had lots of sweet potatoes on his face.  I told Reid I thought the Baby wanted a hug and he said, "Nooooo! Him all orange!!"  :)

Reid - 12/2/2015

Reid ate most of whole wheat toast and two servings of mixed berries for breakfast.  For lunch he ate ham, lots of crackers, bean & bacon soup, and ate strawberries.  The breakfast conversation was about Cooper declaring, "Yesterday Mom let me have some of HER chocolate chips!"  Then they were talking about "Inside Out."  (Whatever that is?!?)  Again, Cooper was pretty sure my lack of understanding was a hearing problem!!  :)  His mouth was about 10 inches from my ear and he was screaming, "INSIDE OUT!!"  LOL  Uh, I can hear you just fine Coop!  Finally, Cooper said it was a "show" and Reid said it was a "movie."

When the boys were done washing for Lunch I was putting their socks on them - the lunch room floor is cold.  I managed to get Cooper's socks on Reid (Reid's were on his cubby) and one of Hudson's socks on Cooper before Cooper said, "Uhhh, this isn't my sock."  Ha ha!  Ok, let's start over!!

Cooper was playing with the jingle bells and he took the tambourines to Reid.  I took this picture because Reid put them on his feet and started singing, "Jingle Bells."  LOL

Here's some pictures from this morning's activities.  We also sang songs, read books, practiced some shapes, and looked at catalogs.  The boys were jumping off the igloo and Cooper said to Reid, "Count; when you get to 100 I'm gonna jump."  The only number I heard Reid say; "18."  :)

Cooper told Reid, "hop on!"  And that was pretty much as far as it went!!  :)  So I had Reid sit down, but that didn't help much either.
